We were lucky to catch up with Zakia Miller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Zakia, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
On the record, I’d like to state that I’ve been president of the “self-care club” before the internet made it a thing. My favorite form of self-care is exercise. I enjoy long walks and challenging runs. I also really enjoy journaling. My strategy is to go for a long walk and organize my thoughts along the way, I then transfer my thoughts to my journal and create an action plan when needed. It’s a great process to strategize your personal and business objectives efficiently and effectively.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Sure! First off, we’ve moved! Ansari Aesthetics is officially open and ready to serve you at our new location in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
I’ve been a licensed esthetician for over 6 years now, and every day I learn something new. I’m a huge supporter of mental health and overall wellness, and extremely focused on aiding my clients on their journey to find balance between the two.
For this very reason, we have developed and launched a brand-new treatment for our skin friends suffering from PCOS. We are excited to introduce you to “The PCOS Protocol Facial – developed EXCLUSIVELY for Ansari Aesthetics. This treatment is noninvasive, affordable, and highly effective. We are confident that you will be impressed by your results!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The most important skill I learned and credit to my success is the ability to listen. Professionally, I live by the quote “seek first to understand and then to be understood”. Aside from really learning to listen, I believe you must be a lifetime student of your industry, you must be willing to adapt and implement new policies, protocols, and procedures, when existing ones are no longer working.
My advice to the new kid on the block is: Listen actively, study, and don’t be afraid to initiate positive changes when necessary.
To be successful in life, one must have no fear of failure. Weakness merits a moment – Zakia Miller
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to expand my reach and develop beneficial professional relationships. I would love to collaborate with marketing experts, podcasters, and women’s health & wellness advocates. It is truly my pleasure to help women in need, in any way that I can. I can be reached at www.AnsariSkin.com, I’m also very active on Instagram: Ansari.Skin.
