Meet Zia sanders Aka Dream

We were lucky to catch up with Zia sanders Aka Dream recently and have shared our conversation below.

Zia sanders, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic definitely comes from my upbringing. Hard work & determination was instilled in me & i took to it. My dad is a really big influence on my business aspiration side.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I do alot. Im a published model, upcoming artist, brand ambassador, promoter, event hostess & coordinator, entrepreneur (go shop dreams dresser!) , & content creator. I just entered the media world without a new business partner where I’m interviewing talents. Something new I’m getting into rn is reality tv, bringing personality right to the screen! Im also getting into community based events like kid & homeless drives. I aspire to own my own talent management agency & record label so im building connections & making moves towards that. I’m having fun with it. Working hard & playing harder!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Ouu um. Definitely resilience, forgiveness, & patience. Those 3 traits right there have seen me through so much of life. & even though i still have trouble with forgiveness & patience sometimes, the will to master them always kept me on my toes with it. I would say in order to best develop any trait of self, you have to first whole heartedly acknowledge it & be acceptance of the change they come with. Sometimes change requires you to acknowledge parts of yourself you May not want to see & that can be a challenge but overcoming it or even make steps in progress, is a great feeling. It takes time.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Right now I’m working on my trust. Trust in the industry. There’s a common misconception that you don’t need to have trust in people but in business, trust is something needed. I’m very hard on myself. & i always want people around me to work as hard as me but i has to realize that when working with people, you have to be able to trust them. Trust their process. Trust yourself & why you’re even considering working with them. Ya know. & im just finding my place with that. Im working on it by allowing my business connections in a little more, getting a little more comfortable & really developing healthy business relationships.
