Nicole Azmira on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Nicole Azmira and have shared our conversation below.

Nicole, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently was invited to be a guest speaker at a conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was my first professional speaking engagement and it was also incredibly exciting and rewarding.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I grew up in a very small town in Canada, which gave me a big curiosity about the world. That curiosity led me to travel and spend much of my time in the MENA region, especially Saudi Arabia, which has been a huge source of inspiration for my work.

Today, I work in social media and marketing, creating content and collaborations with brands internationally. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just create for visibility — I focus on strategy and storytelling that builds real brand value.

I’ve also started developing my own brand, Azmira, which I envision as a multi-branch project combining travel experiences, fashion, and beauty— all inspired by my journey of blending cultures and creativity.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents definitely taught me the most about work. Growing up on a horse farm, I learned early on that hard work and responsibility are part of your daily rhythm as there are no days off when animals depend on you. That environment taught me the importance of consistency, time management, and taking pride in doing things well, even when no one’s watching.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Do it alone, do it scared, do it tired, do it broke, just do it. You don’t need perfect conditions to start, you just need to start. Every opportunity, is a chance for growth, especially moments where you need to pushed through fear and uncertainty to take action. I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t come before doing something, it comes from doing it, learning, and proving to yourself that you can.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is very much the real me, just a bit more polished at times. Since I often attend events and represent brands, professionalism is important, but I never want that to come at the expense of authenticity. I value being genuine, and I think my audience connects with me on a deeper level because they can feel that what I share truly reflects who I am and my personality comes through in all my work.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I think what I understand deeply and what many people overlook is that we’re all here to experience what it truly means to be human. The challenges, the setbacks, the uncomfortable moments aren’t meant to break us, they’re meant to shape us. Every difficult experience holds a lesson, and until we truly learn it, life tends to repeat those same cycles in different forms. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort, it happens when we’re pushed to evolve.
