Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nyiko Rikhotso, and I am the Founder and CEO of Freezy World. Freezy World is more than just an e-commerce brand — it’s a vision to make premium lifestyle products accessible, stylish, and tailored to the modern consumer.
What makes Freezy World unique is our focus on blending global trends with local needs. We curate and deliver everything from high-quality furniture and home essentials to fashion and lifestyle products, ensuring that our customers don’t just buy items, but invest in experiences that elevate their daily lives.
My journey with Freezy World started with a passion to build something that could compete on a global scale while staying deeply connected to our communities. Over the years, we’ve grown through persistence, innovation, and a customer-first approach.
Right now, I’m working on scaling Freezy World to reach international markets, strengthening our digital presence, and exploring strategic partnerships that will help us make this brand a global household name.
At its core, Freezy World is about dreaming big, working smart, and delivering value — not only for our customers but also for the people and communities we serve.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was simply a curious creator. I’ve always been drawn to building things — whether it was experimenting with websites, exploring design, or figuring out how people connect with technology. I wasn’t thinking about job titles or industries; I was driven by curiosity, creativity, and the excitement of making ideas come alive.
That natural drive to create and problem-solve is what eventually shaped me into who I am today — a professional in web development and digital marketing, helping e-commerce brands grow. But at my core, I’m still that same curious person who loves experimenting, learning, and creating.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience, patience, and perspective in ways that success never could. Success can be loud, celebrated, and validating, but suffering forces you to sit with silence, doubt, and struggle — and that’s where the deepest growth happens.
Through suffering, I learned how to adapt when things don’t go as planned, how to keep moving when the rewards aren’t immediate, and how to find strength in moments when giving up feels easier. It taught me empathy, humility, and the importance of persistence.
Success shows you what’s possible.
Suffering shows you who you truly are.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Jeff Bezos not just for his power or success, but for his character — particularly his relentless focus on long-term vision and resilience. What stands out to me is his ability to think decades ahead, to take risks when others doubted him, and to remain disciplined in the face of setbacks.
It’s not the billions or the influence that inspire me most, but the mindset: staying curious, customer-obsessed, and willing to keep reinventing. That kind of character — persistence mixed with innovation — is what I truly admire.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I was someone who dared to dream big and worked tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality. That I built something meaningful — not just a brand, but opportunities, experiences, and inspiration for others to believe in themselves.
I’d want people to remember me as a person who never gave up, even when the road was hard, and who used challenges as stepping stones instead of barriers. Someone who created value, uplifted communities, and left behind a legacy that made life just a little better for others.
More than anything, I hope the story people tell about me is that I proved you can come from anywhere, start with little, and still build something that impacts the world.
