Creativity is a funny thing. One day you can have it and the next you don’t. I think that that’s perfectly normal. I think stressing over creativity just makes it worse. One of the things I try to do that I’ve noticed helps foster creativity is not focusing all my creative energy in one place. I do photography for a living, so I take days off from shooting or planning shoots. There are some weeks I’m more focused on my blog trying to help others understand the basics of photography or help my clients make decisions. This gives my brain a rest and it keeps me productive in my business. Read more>>

I keep my creativity alive by reading and watching the content of people that tend to operate at a high level of authentic creativity via TikTok, Youtube, and Instagram. Reading has helped me to become disciplined, as well as train my mind to focus on one thing at a time, which has expanded my way of thinking. Watching creators keeps me evolving and remaining in a creative space, but I realize that watching others has to be done with caution. Read more>>

Being in a business where I sell things that I create, I find it important to keep separate creative hobbies that are not involved with the business. I used to offer a bit of each of my creative outlets in my business until I realized I was just making what sells and had no enjoyment in the process anymore. I decided to stop selling those things and only create them in my free time as way to get that explorative urge out. In turn, my creativity flows a bit easier and inspiration for my pieces comes more naturally. Read more>>

When you’re a kid, creativity and imagination come as naturally as breathing. It’s not something that you have to think about, it’s just something that you do – no hesitations, no restraint, no second guessing. You just pick up a stick, and suddenly you’re a wizard with their wand, riding a dragon up to Mars. Read more>>

The beauty about creativity is that it can be entirely anything you want it to be. If we can find the beauty in the little things that we do daily, our natural creative nature will always be alive. For example, simply choosing what to wear that day and deciding what you find comfort and confidence in that day is just a small portion of our natural creativity. But, beyond that, from the way we decide how to decorate our lives whether in the literal sense with home decor or even just being able to surround ourselves with people who bring out the best in us, there will always be sparks of creativity. I don’t know if it’s keeping it alive as much as it is allowing it to happen. When I started writing lyrics again, I was amazed at how much material flowed out of me, it was like a faucet. And what changed? The only change I made was allowing it to happen. (And a few dope instrumentals helped too.) Read more>>

I was born talented. But never been involved in any club about my talents. I was autistic of being difficult myself. When I watched WWE on television, I thought celebrities were not real. But it was real, in my own eyes. I wish I could meet them in person, but I could not make it. Until I decided to attend WWE Event in California. Read more>>

Creativity has been tricky for me, and still sometimes is, so I try to address it from multiple directions.

I try to indulge my creative desires. Creativity begets creativity. I like to create the space and set aside the time to work on projects that tap deeper into my creativity. Some weeks, that looks like dabbling in a facet of my silversmithing craft that isn’t yet in my repertoire. Other weeks, it may be crafting Native-style wooden flutes, spending time taking photographs, or trying silverpoint drawing. Read more>>
