We recently had the chance to connect with Ramon Winters and have shared our conversation below.
Ramon, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am Walking a path following in the steps of Jesus so that I’ll never have to walk in darkness But will have the light of life. The Lord (Jesus Christ) establishes my steps along this path
1 Peter 2:21
John 8:12
Proverbs 16:9
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, a passionate soul food restaurateur, and a man of many callings. As the owner of a soulful eatery that blends tradition with excellence, I bring heart, heritage, and hospitality to every plate I serve. My love for God guides both my life and my business, grounding me in purpose and grace.
Beyond the kitchen, I’m a professional actor, using the stage and screen to tell stories that inspire and uplift. I’m also a dedicated teacher (of Dental Assisting), committed to educating and mentoring the next generation with wisdom, patience, and creativity. As a loving husband, I deeply value the bonds of family and community—values that are at the core of my restaurant’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.
My visionary outlook extends into my fragrance brand, Action by Ramón P—a bold unisex eau de parfum inspired by my passion for acting . Whether I’m performing, teaching, crafting a fine scent, or serving up a taste of the South, I strive to live with passion, purpose, and a deep desire to serve others—with faith as my foundation and love as my legacy.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I see myself chosen and beloved due to my relationship with Jesus (1 Peter 2:9). I also see Myself as a Child of God because of my relationship with Jesus.( Romans 8:15). Also, I see Myself as a new creation(2 Corinthians 5:17), empowered for good works(Ephesians 2:10), forgiven and purified ( 1 John 1:9) and one in Jesus Christ with other believers in Christ(Galatians 3:28).
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust God in all things and don’t stay down after a fall.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe that as I continue to pursue spiritual growth and maturity, I will attain it—just as Philippians 3:12 reminds us to press on toward our calling in Christ. In this season of my life, one of the projects I am deeply committed to is bringing Ra’Nelle’s Table to life—a soulful dining experience that celebrates Faith, Excellence, Integrity and the joy of sharing a meal.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My Identity in Christ.
As a believer, my identity is firmly rooted in God’s unfailing love, abundant grace, and unshakable promises. I am a child of God, and my worth is not defined by roles, possessions, or the wins and losses by which the world keeps score. My new life in Christ was born out of surrender—laying down the roles I once clung to, the possessions I thought defined me, and the false image of who I believed I was. In letting go, I found the freedom to become who God always intended me to be.
