Ruby Leigh on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ruby Leigh. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Ruby , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is answering lots of emails and messages about business related stuff first and then I like to give as much time as possible to my fans
“My FanAmily” as I call them because there are so many people who have became so close to me and they feel like family we share family stories and the struggles we go though, so I spend time commenting and interacting as much as I can!
The rest of the time I spend learning new music, practicing and learning new instruments and hanging out with my best friend AKA “Grumpy” my sister Sandra, painting, drawing, doing makeup or watching funny videos or movies

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ruby Leigh, I’m a professional country music singer / musician from the small town of Foley Missouri,
When I was 16 years old I was a contestant on season 24 of The Voice a singing reality show where I was runner up!
My audition video has gained millions of views as well as many of my other videos from the show! After leaving the show I continued to work hard and my ultimate dream was fulfilled when I got my call from The Grand Ole Opry to make my debut on August 2nd 2024 where I got a standing ovation and a immediate invitation to return again! After that I sang the National Anthem for the Tennessee Titans Football Team and it immediately went viral gaining millions of views!
Next I made my Ryman Auditorium debut and again another standing ovation on the 2nd biggest stage in Country Music!
Up next I will be singing for The KC Chiefs! And a special winter tour announcement as a featured artist with PMJ Post Modern Jukebox

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I guess blindly it would be my family because they supported me and my desire to sing even though they didn’t know if I could sing or not LOL,
But Professionally it would be George Portz and The Friends Of Bluegrass first who helped me tremendously with my timing and stage presence and they always encouraged me to reach higher, Kat Pohlman the bassist used to always tell me keep going you got the it factor and she said”I’ve said that about two other people who went on to be very successful” not sure who the 2nd person was but Allison Krauss was someone she had worked with before and a name I was very familiar with and looked up to!
Next would be Mickey Gilley who I met at 10 years old and he instantly became a great friend, advisor and he always opened his stage to me and highlighted me at his shows!
Next would be Gene “ACE” Magruder he was a veteran and spent the last years of his life becoming very close to our family and alway spreading my name everywhere!
RIP Mickey Gilley, Gene “ACE Magruder and George Portz

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I sang my first notes at 9-1/2 years old and I knew instantly that this would be what I would do for the rest of my life!
I told my dad the day after singing for the first time “daddy I’m going to be a singer” and honestly I’ve never had a thought about quitting! Has it always been easy? No ! but there has never been a thought of quitting!
I feel like God has given me a beautiful gift and it’s my job to share it with the world!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think they would say it’s important to me to remain true to myself and be real all the time and remain humble and understand that I’m nothing more than a girl who God has blessed with a singing voice and without that I’m nothing special at all! So all the glory goes to God and I will humbly accept the applause knowing I’m nothing at the end of the day!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Like I said I come from a very small town with little opportunities and my hopes have always been to encourage people like myself to dream and don’t let your surroundings dictate the life you live!
Don’t Ever Let Your Fears,
Be Bigger Than Your Dreams!
There’s a great big world out there for you just because you can’t see it from where you’re currently at doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist! It just means you have to adjust your viewing position!
