Shaikh Afraaz shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Shaikh, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me starts early, around 6:30 AM. I spend the morning catching up on tech news and scripting content. By mid-morning, I’m recording or shooting videos, followed by editing in the afternoon. I take a break for lunch, then engage with my audience through comments or live sessions. Evenings are for more content brainstorming or learning. I wrap up around 11 PM, either editing or winding down with a tech video or movie. It’s a fast-paced but exciting routine!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shaikh Afraaz, but most people know me online as sk.afraaz. I’m a Tech Creator and YouTuber, and I share tech-related content across all major social media platforms — Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Facebook. My audience really enjoys my videos and connects with the way I explain technology in a simple and engaging manner.
I’m from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra, where I completed both my schooling and my degree. My journey as a Tech Creator began in 2020, but my passion for technology started long before that. I was always that one kid in the family and friend circle who everyone called whenever there was any tech-related problem — and I loved solving them!
In 2020, while I was in the 2nd year of my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, I got the idea to share my tech knowledge with the world. That’s when I started creating tech videos, and what began as a solo journey has now grown into something much bigger.
After 5 years of hard work, I’m proud to say that today I am one of India’s Official Tech Creators. I started alone, but now I have a large team with me, and together we’ve become one of India’s well-known tech content groups. As a Muslim Tech Creator, I’m honored to have achieved a Global Rank of 11th, which is a matter of great pride for me and my community.
From day one, my parents have been my biggest support system. My father, Mr. Mohd Tohid Shaikh, and my younger brother, Shaikh Faizan, used to help me shoot my videos. I can never thank my family enough for standing by me through every step of this journey.
Looking ahead, I have big dreams — I want to become India’s No.1 Tech Creator and continue to share valuable tech knowledge with everyone. All I need is your love and support, and together, we’ll keep creating amazing tech content that inspires and informs people across the country.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Honestly, the first people who saw me clearly before I even saw myself were my parents. From day one, they believed in me — even when I had no idea where this journey would go. My dad, Mohd Tohid Shaikh, and my younger brother, Shaikh Faizan, were the ones behind the camera when no one was watching. They saw the vision before it became real.
And above all, I’d say Allah saw me clearly when I was still figuring out who I was. Every step, every challenge, every win — it all happened with His plan.
So yes, before I could see myself as “sk.afraaz,” my family and my faith saw me first.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain the day I realized that struggles don’t break you — they build you.
There was a time when things didn’t go my way, when people doubted me, when numbers were low, and the journey felt too heavy. But instead of letting that pain silence me, I decided to turn it into fuel.
Every setback became a lesson, every failure became motivation, and every doubt became energy to prove myself right — not others.
That’s when pain turned into power.
Today, when people see “sk.afraaz,” they see success — but behind that name is a guy who learned to turn his pain into purpose
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — the public version of me is real, but it’s not the whole me.
What you see online — my energy, my passion for tech, my positivity — that’s all 100% genuine. I don’t fake who I am in front of the camera. But of course, off-camera, I’m also a simple guy who loves peace, silence, and spending time with my family.
I believe in keeping it real and relatable because people connect with honesty, not perfection.
So yeah, the “sk.afraaz” you see online — that’s me. Just that behind the screen, I’m also Shaikh Afraaz, a normal person chasing his dreams with the same heart and hustle.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m doing what I love — creating.
When I’m shooting, editing, or just sitting late at night planning the next idea, that’s my comfort zone. There’s a different kind of peace that comes when you’re living your passion and seeing people genuinely benefit from your content.
Apart from that, I find peace in spending time with my family — just sitting with my parents, talking with my brother, no cameras, no pressure, just real moments.
And of course, when I pray, everything feels calm. It reminds me why I started and who’s really guiding me through it all.
That’s my peace — purpose, family, and faith.
