We recently had the chance to connect with Shavonne Cantrell & Arreyon Ford and have shared our conversation below.

We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I start my day with a nourishing routine: prayer, a daily dose of inspiration from my Bible verse, refreshing my face and brushing my teeth, and fueling up with vitamins. Then, I dress with intention, prepare a wholesome breakfast and lunch, and set the tone with uplifting gospel music. I take a moment to review my daily goals and offer myself a powerful affirmation, igniting a sense of purpose and positivity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As the CEO of JewellzCreations, book author Life After and event planning and catering company, I founded 11 years ago, I’m proud to have shown my daughters that entrepreneurship is a viable path. What started as a way to inspire them has blossomed into a successful business, allowing me to cater to celebrities and make a meaningful impact. My dedication to making every event special, regardless of size or budget, sets me apart. I’m excited to introduce new menus monthly and look forward to launching my own cooking show and giving back to the community through my non-profit, Life After.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother has always encouraged me to pursue a career that brings me joy and fulfillment, regardless of the salary, as doing so will lead to a lifelong passion for my work.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
After my father’s passing, I made the tough decision to continue with my event, and although it didn’t turn out as expected, I was lifted by the encouragement of those who recognized my efforts. With my good sister Candy help had I not takin her advice I would have not continued to pursue catering/event planning business. I
found the strength to carry on, and this experience has taught me to face any challenge with courage and determination.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Watching me deal with struggles that most people would have lost their minds or taken their own life, with the grace of God and prayers from my family, I had the strength to get through it without a scratch on my face. That gave them motivation to defeat anything. I always say your present situation isn’t your final destination.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People have observed my business grow. They assume success came easily, so they believe they can replicate it. Yet, they don’t recognize the sacrifices involved. Some individuals may dislike you because you persist and remain humble. My daughters and grandchildren are also thriving as well
