Sheila, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to step into a bolder version of myself. For years, I created quietly and stayed behind the scenes, even when I knew my work had power. Now I am being called to lead out loud. To build a luxury brand with confidence. To charge my worth. To walk into rooms I once thought were too big for me. And just as important, I am being called to teach others how to build and own successful small businesses. I am no longer hiding my gifts. I am using them to lift others as I rise.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Sheila Renee, the founder and creative force behind Sheila Renee Designs, a luxury custom footwear and accessories brand. I discovered my creativity during one of the hardest seasons of my life, and it became the place where I rebuilt my confidence and my sense of purpose. Today I design one-of-a-kind pieces for men and women who want art they can wear. Every creation reflects a story, a moment, or a feeling that deserves to be honored in a way mass-produced fashion never could. What makes my brand unique is the intention behind it. I design with excellence, personal storytelling, and a commitment to craftsmanship that lets my clients feel seen, celebrated, and unforgettable. Right now, I am expanding my Bridal and Specialty Collection, elevating my luxury positioning, and building systems that will allow me to teach other entrepreneurs how to start and grow their own small businesses. My story is still being written, but every step forward feels like purpose in motion.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose is the version of myself that played small to make others comfortable. The version that second-guessed her talent, undercharged her value, and waited for permission to shine. She protected me when life was heavy, but she cannot take me where I am going now. I am releasing the fear of being seen so I can step into the bold, creative, and purpose-driven woman I was always meant to be.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. There were moments when life felt so heavy that quitting seemed easier than pushing forward. I almost gave up during one of the hardest seasons of my life, when everything around me felt uncertain, and my confidence had taken a hit. But creating saved me. Designing reminded me that I still had something beautiful to offer the world. Every time I wanted to walk away, God met me with strength I did not have on my own. That is why I keep going. That is why my brand exists.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I hold in the highest regard is integrity. I believe in doing everything with excellence, honesty, and intention, whether anyone is watching or not. My work carries my name, my story, and my reputation, so I protect the culture of showing up fully, keeping my word, and creating with purpose. It shapes how I treat my clients, how I lead my brand, and how I show up in every room God allows me to enter.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am creating. When my hands are moving, the world quiets down, and I can hear myself think. Designing allows me to breathe, reset, and reconnect with who I am at my core. I also feel deep peace in prayer and stillness, when I slow down long enough to feel God guiding my next step. Those moments remind me that I am held, supported, and exactly where I am meant to be.
