Hi Skye, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes-completing a new song, learning new things about music theory because it is infinite, knowing I gave it my all for that day,,,make me feel proud. Whether I gave it my all in writing a song, doing scales for vocals, or a workout, giving it your all feel incredible! Also, exercising kindness out of choice. Is a some thing that makes me feel proud.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a singer songwriter, pending release of my 5th fill length music album. I write all my own songs. I have been performing the majority of my life. I am a professional singer, songwriter and piano/keyboard player. In addition to music, I am also an actress, and a print model. In my music career, I have done everything from performing with my full band, to performing solo singer songwriter sets. I have performed at various venues, and am always writing the next song. Music is my purpose and passion. I am also always excited to learn more about music theory, styles, explore songwriting breakthroughs and more. In addition to making music, I also have an extensive collection of music videos, many of which I directed over the years. I have a website with a link to all my music available world wide, along with merchandise for sale, as well as many music videos.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Focusing on differences, instead of of focusing on what unites us. Accepting humans are not perfect allows room for forgiveness. Where it counts, and at there core, the majority of humanity is good.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
All is possible, dream big. Serve the world on the highest level-it is possible. Don’t let dark energies or people interfere with your enthusiasm and joy. Often naysayers only say what they say out of negative reflection of how they feel about themselves. If that is recognized, then you do not take it personal if some one has a a negative opinion regarding something about you or what you are doing. You keep your eye on the prize, and proceed. Relentless, unaffected.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Being still and listening to the divine within. God, source, the divine is the clearest, most coherent, pristine and accurate voice. That is what shapes and moves my life. Allowing the divine to move through and speak through me…and surrendering to the wise higher power. In my case, this applies to both songwriting, as well as daily life.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying, doubting, or looking at the negative when there is a world of positive and good.
