Story & Lesson Highlights with Alex Lobos

Alex Lobos shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Alex, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
It’s my personal relationship with God! My church family has also been a tremendous blessing for my spiritual growth. A lot of people have told me I look so peaceful and happy. They are drawn to my new energy! I’m honing my identity and know my purpose in life. It’s so fulfilling to live this way and totally worth sacrificing popularity for authenticity. For so long, I’ve hindered who I was for the sake of pacifying others. I was suffering the mental consequences of not being my true self. I knew that lowering who I am wasn’t the path I was meant to take and have always felt the yearning for something bigger than myself. I found that void in my loving Creator. My spiritual walk has impacted the way I engage with people, leaving a positively lasting impression. My personal relationship with God has restored me and now I can pour into others!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
To be honest, it was the rebuilding process of my business that forced a massive shift of mindset and attitude towards all aspects of my life. Long story short, I tried to expand three years ago and did it without any formal preparation or awareness of business fundamentals. I didn’t know my numbers and had no structure, protocols, or tools, that could help me make informed decisions. I solely relied on well intended, but bad business advice from people who didn’t know my industry. The foundational cracks started to reveal themselves and I had to make the tough choice to rebuild, knowing I would risk losing business, but also needing a solid foundation before truly scaling.

In order to build any foundation properly, it starts within ourselves. Some of the business courses I took emphasized on releasing any past issues that hinder our personal growth. The most impactful topic revolved around forgiveness. The big three questions were: 1) Who do I need to forgive? 2) What do I need to forgive myself for? 3) Who do I need to ask for forgiveness? I learned that in order to be a good leader, the inner work is vital for being a positive influence to others. It was my first time facing the difficult task of public vulnerability, casting aside the facade that I had it all together when in reality, I needed inner healing first and foremost.

I went to counseling, church, and worship centers to help me get comfortable with vulnerability. It was very difficult but when I finally overcame my pride, I felt so free! I now live with so much peace and joy. I want to pour into others who lack self-awareness, self-worth, and identity. This is why my business culture is rooted in Authentic Beauty Principles. After my own journey of healing, soul searching, and restoration, I’m inspired to uplift others in the same manner, by helping them find the true beauty within themselves.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Once I was liberated from the hardness of my heart, I was able to change people’s lives for the better! I’m very transparent about my self-healing journey, but more so to normalize vulnerability. I want to make being human a very natural thing instead of living under facades. People are so conditioned to appear composed but they are truly closed off, chasing unfulfilling lifestyles, earthly possessions, and a false sense of acceptance. It’s this mentality that hinders people’s personal growth. I feel like the world needs more safe spaces where people can be vulnerable without judgement, exploitation, or manipulation.

My business has transformed into a place for inner work. I love it when my clients share with me their testimonies of people noticing their new confidence levels. They are being seen and heard in a positive way! What I find fascinating is that their admirers don’t comment on the work that I do. What they notice is the inner glow that makes them naturally radiant, alluring, and attractive! All I do is give my clients the education and tools to approach their own beauty with confidence. I pour into them, they pour into themselves, which results in a healthy mindset that changes their quality of life. This is the power of Authentic Beauty. I call it the Elite Mood and it’s a very real phenomenon!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The beauty industry is full of misleading propaganda such as: 1) You’ll be beautiful by attaining ‘the standard’ of pop culture beauty. The truth? It thrives off of people’s insecurities. 2) By looking, acting, and behaving like influential people, you’ll be cool and accepted. The truth? It’s mass conditioning, hindering personal identity in favor of clone mentality. 3) Real beauty looks like the images in mainstream media. The truth? Most, if not all images, are altered and filtered in ways that distort one’s perception of attainable beauty, hindering self-acceptance and appreciation for their own natural beauty.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I when I talk about Authentic Beauty, people assume I’m referring to being all natural, as in: no fillers, injections, invasive skin treatments, etc. It’s not at all the message I promote. I support women in doing what makes them happy. As long as they have the right mindset and beauty education, they can make informed decisions for their beauty journey.

What I’m against is the mass conditioning starting with girls at a very young age who are concerned about their physical appearance. They need to focus on enjoying their childhood, not engaging in unhealthy comparison patterns. It’s acceptable to teach girls personalized beauty education in their ‘tweens’ to preserve their natural beauty, innocence, and identity. Proper beauty education is the core foundation for anyone to love their features authentically!

What Authentic Beauty truly means is having genuine self-love towards yourself that regardless of societal expectations, you hone your identity. You know who you are, you know your value… and because of that, you exude attractive energy that naturally makes you beautiful!
