We recently had the chance to connect with Benedictar Sibanda and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Benedictar, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts with a bit of quiet time—either enjoying a cup of tea or catching up on messages. I like to keep things balanced, so I often spend time with family or go for a walk to clear my mind. I enjoy listening to music or watching something light-hearted to unwind. If I have errands or personal tasks, I tackle those during the day, but I always make time to relax and reflect. Evenings are usually calm, and I love ending the day with a good book or chatting with loved ones or catching up on my favourite korean series. It’s the simple routines that keep me grounded and recharged.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Benedictar Sibanda—a fashion and commercial model, brand influencer, and the proud founder of Oceanic Oasis Apparel. My journey in the fashion industry has been a blend of creativity, confidence, and purpose. Modeling opened doors for me to express myself and connect with diverse brands, while influencing has allowed me to inspire others through style and storytelling.
Oceanic Oasis Apparel is more than just a fashion brand—it’s a reflection of bold elegance and coastal-inspired serenity. I created it to celebrate individuality and empower people to feel confident in what they wear. Every piece is designed with intention, blending trend with timelessness.
I’m passionate about building a brand that not only looks good but feels meaningful. Whether I’m on set, curating content, or sketching new designs, I’m always working toward creating something that resonates. I’m excited to share this journey with you and continue growing a brand that speaks to authenticity and style.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is my relationship with God. It’s the foundation of my identity and the source of my strength. Before I truly embraced that connection, I often felt the pressure to be someone else or to fit into certain expectations. But through my faith, I discovered that I am enough just as I am—uniquely created, with purpose and grace.
Things began to shift in my life once I leaned into that relationship. Doors started opening, opportunities grew, and I found peace in knowing that I don’t have to chase validation—I’m already loved and chosen. My journey, both personally and professionally, has been deeply influenced by this truth.
**One verse that continues to guide me is Jeremiah 29:11: _“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “It’s okay to stop, breathe, and reset. You don’t have to rush or have it all figured out. God’s timing is perfect, and everything will unfold exactly as it’s meant to.”
There were moments when I felt overwhelmed by expectations or unsure of my path, but I’ve learned that grace lives in the pauses. Trusting God’s plan has brought peace, clarity, and unexpected blessings.
One verse that continues to comfort and guide me is Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” It reminds me that even the waiting seasons have purpose, and that growth often happens in the quiet moments.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. I come as I am—genuine, grounded, and unapologetically myself. I’m not easily swayed by outside noise or pressure to conform. What you see is truly who I am, even though I choose to keep certain parts of my life private. My personal world is sacred to me, and I believe not everything needs to be shared to be real.
I show up with honesty and intention, whether I’m modeling, influencing, or building my brand. While I may not reveal every detail, everything I do share comes from a place of truth. I believe authenticity is powerful, and I strive to reflect that in everything I do.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people remember me as someone whose presence felt like light. I want them to say I was kind, loving, and welcoming—that my heart had room for everyone. I hope they speak of how I gave generously, not just in material ways, but through love, time, and compassion. That my aura brought peace, and my spirit made others feel seen and valued.
I want my legacy to be one of warmth and grace, where people felt safe to be themselves around me. That I lived with purpose, and that my life was a reflection of God’s love.
**A verse that captures the essence of the legacy I hope to leave is Matthew 5:16: _“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
