Story & Lesson Highlights with Bre Khounphinith

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bre Khounphinith. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Bre , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are very intentional. I start by thanking God for another day, spending time in prayer and my daily devotional, and then I take my dog for a walk. It sets the tone for me, spiritually, mentally, and physically, to show up focused and grounded for the rest of the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Bre Khounphinith, and I’m a professional and celebrity makeup artist as well as a beauty content creator. Through my brand, Beauty by Bre, I focus on helping women look and feel their most confident whether that’s through makeup artistry, beauty education, or inspiring beauty content.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my grandmother truly shaped the way I see myself. She always reminded me that I was special, right up until she went to heaven, and her words still carry me today. The most important relationship in my life, though, is my relationship with God. That’s where I find my greatest confidence, because He says I am worthy, and by trusting Him, I see and embrace my own worthiness

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self that the very things you doubt about yourself are the things that will make you powerful. You are enough, you always were and one day you’ll walk in that truth with confidence.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is absolutely my real self. I don’t just share the highs. I also share the lows and everything in between. What people see from me in public is the same as who I am in private: genuine, caring, and committed to uplifting others. Whether you know me personally or professionally, I believe you’d describe me in the same way.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I would stop overthinking. I tend to overthink, and it can send me down a rabbit hole at times. Instead, I’d focus on letting life unfold, continue to trust God fully, and truly embracing the beauty of each moment, because life really is beautiful.
