Story & Lesson Highlights with Brittney Megann of Toronto, Ontario

We recently had the chance to connect with Brittney Megann and have shared our conversation below.

Brittney, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Pinterest Boards! Whenever I’m feeling disconnected from my vision, I’ll sit and scroll Pinterest! Pinning inspirational quotes and aesthetic pictures is one of my favourite ways to connect with my highest self again.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brittney Megann, I’m the CEO and Head Socialista of Socials & Stilettos, but at my core, I’m really just a girls girl obsessed with helping women show up unapologetically and build iconic brands. I’ve always been creative and entrepreneurial, and over the years, I’ve turned that passion into a full-service creative marketing agency that supports beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands worldwide.

What lights me up is creating! Whether that’s designing a new offer, launching a podcast, building community (The Socialista Club), or mapping out content ideas that make a brand magnetic, submersing myself into a brand and its vision is one of my favourite parts of my job.

I’m not afraid to do things differently, and I think that’s what makes me stand out. Socials & Stilettos is the umbrella where all of that comes to life, but it’s also just one piece of my bigger mission, which is to help women win, feel seen, and step into their main character energy.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Slipping into my mom’s high heels as a little girl. They were way too big for me, but the second I stood up and tried to strut around the house, I felt taller, louder, bolder, like I could take up space in a whole new way.

Looking back, it wasn’t about the shoes themselves… it was about what they represented. To me, they symbolized confidence, independence, and the ability to walk into a room like you belong there. That playful moment as a kid really planted the seed for how I see power today. It’s not about being the loudest or the strongest, it’s about how you choose to show up and the energy you carry with you. It’s no coincidence that stilettos ended up in the name of my creative agency. For me, they’ve always been a symbol of stepping fully into who you are and owning it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely! A few years back, I had lost my entire team and all of my highest-paying clients at once. I was wearing every single hat, and I was so burnt out that I remember thinking, maybe running a business isn’t for me anymore.

But then I had this moment where I thought… “hold on, I didn’t come this far just to quit”. I started this to help women win and to show up differently in the marketing space, and I wasn’t about to let a rough season take that away from me. So I got super clear on what actually mattered, I rebuilt my entire business, and I brought in people who aligned with the kind of energy and vision I wanted moving forward.

Looking back, that season was brutal, but it taught me how resilient I am. It pushed me to create better systems, protect my energy, and step both stilettoed feet into being the leader I was always born to be. And honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Wholeheartedly yes. I honestly don’t have the time or energy to pretend to be anyone else. What you see online is exactly who I am in real life: pink-obsessed, a little extra, always cheering other women on, and figuring things out as I go. At the end of the day, everybody else is already taken, so I may as well be me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me for my resilience. I want my story to be something that makes people feel empowered, not something they feel bad about. My biggest hope is that when someone hears my story and what I’ve been through, their reaction is “if she can do it, I can do it too”!

That’s why I’m so passionate about being open and honest. I don’t just share my highlight reels, but also the behind-the-scenes grittiness of building Socials & Stilettos and my personal brand. I want people to see the real journey and feel inspired to keep going after their own dreams, even when it gets messy or hard. If the story people tell about me sparks that kind of belief in themselves, then I’ll feel like I did what I was meant to do.
