We recently had the chance to connect with Denzelle Simmons and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Denzelle , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I feel like I’m doing a bit of both.
I’m walking a path that I spent a lifetime building for myself, but I’m also wandering because there’s so many amazing things I would like to accomplish still . So many avenues, i just want to make sure I give effort into anything that i involve myself in
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My Name is Denzelle Simmons and I am the Owner/CEO of HBM Denz , which is also my stage name.

With over 200+ songs to choose from
I’ve been writing music since the age of 9 years old
And have performed shows in KC for over 20+ years
I am also a creative executive and music artist with HotBoyz Movement Entertainment.
Male Brand ambassador of Trunks Up Apparel
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My grandfather Arthur Simmons taught me a lot about how consistency is key to unlock many doors in life.
You have to work hard for what you really want and you can’t maintain talent without the hard work behind it
It’s better to have said that you did it instead of someone else taking the credit for it .
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
In 2019 I spent some time in a place I thought I wouldn’t come back from.
Learning how to cope, learning how to accept things, taught me a lot about how alot of things in my past was bottling up inside with anger fueled pain
I was holding onto too much hurt
I give writing music all of my thoughts and emotions every time I put a song together.
There are songs I’ve personally made for myself to be therapeutic for me or for anyone who can relate.
My experiences and my story could save lives .
I will continue to be open about my pain because it’s a weight lifted off of my shoulders
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes , it is all love and positive vibes whenever I am in public.
I am always speaking my mind , and I am respectful to my people, peers , family etc
People love me for me because I stay true to myself and what works for me
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Music is the key element to my life and I feel wholeheartedly that I was born to pick up a microphone and do something with it.
I was too small to play real sports,
So I started rapping and took off from there.
Now I try to dive in several elements of entertainment, I love sports history, so I started something to engage with the football community. I love WWE still even as a 32 year old man , I engage with that community as well.
My goal in life is to be the greatest me of all time
