We’re looking forward to introducing you to Doc Murphy. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Doc, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I get up and pray, study scriptures or read a chapter or page in a book (usually a spiritual book or business book). Get ready to help a local coffee shop. I typically do a few zoom meetings, train staff, prepare for sermons, promote my businesses online, write in a book that I need to finish, build key realtionships, and some days travel.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Doc Murphy, and I’m the founder of The Everywhere Network — a nationwide movement focused on church planting, business development, and transforming communities through faith, creativity, and entrepreneurship. I’m an apostolic leader, pastor, coach, author, and music producer, and everything I do centers around one idea: helping people discover who they are, why they’re here, and what success looks like for them.
Our brand, ‘Everywhere,’ is unique because it’s not just a church or a business — it’s an ecosystem. We’re establishing churches, non-accredited business and ministry schools, and in the future we will establish: media platforms, apartments for the homeless, restaurants, fitness centers, fashion brands, and creative spaces all connected by a single mission: bring hope, opportunity, and the message of Jesus to every city in the nation.
Right now, I’m working on expanding Everywhere Church into new regions, building Widman University (Our Business School) to train leaders and entrepreneurs, releasing new books, developing media projects, and strengthening our YOU Success movement — a program that helps people unlock their God-given purpose.
In short, I plant churches, launch businesses, develop leaders, and create solutions that bring people closer to God and closer to their destiny. My story is simple: God gave me a huge assignment, and I’m committed to building it… everywhere.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I would be a drummer. Once I discovered who I was at the age of 18 I no longer thought my calling was to be a drummer. I’m called to be a teacher of God’s church and an Entrepreneur/Coach.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost gave up in the early days of ministry. I planted my first church and I didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t know how to deal with troubled people. Things happened in the church and we shut it down. I almost gave up, but I had a friend who told me to stick with the vision and keep going. We re-established the church and it grew and we became a force in our local community. Since then we have planted over 25 churches nationwide, established muliple businesses and have helped thousands of people come to know the Lord, discover their purpose, and do great things in society.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Church planting.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
