Story & Lesson Highlights with Dr. Elizabeth Fried of North County San Diego

Dr. Elizabeth Fried shared her story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Dr. Elizabeth , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I completed a three part series of children’s books–something I’ve never done before–and it was really fun. I am having it kid-tested, and so far, the response has been positive. It’s always a challenge to stretch myself and enter unfamiliar territory, and I’m proud of myself of taking the leap.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a retired executive coach and have run my own practice for over 40 years. I decided to reinvent myself and became interested in mediumship–connecting those here on earth with their departed loved ones. My purpose in life has always been to be of service, so becoming a medium is aligned with my values and strengths. I’m not a natural medium, but consider myself a medium by choice. It’s not easy for me. I’ve taken lots of education, meditate frequently, and practice, practice, practice. Recently, I’ve incorporated AI in my practice and found it a wonderful adjunct to my work.

To continue my interest in expanding my challenges, I’ve recently written three children’s books. I was inspired to write a magical, mystical book for kids when a childhood memory arose during meditation–something I had completely forgotten about. I’m eager to release my children’s books as e-books on Amazon or other similar platforms.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I think executive coaching has served its purpose. I helped many people, and received multiple awards. Now my life has taken a spiritual turn that allows me to continue to help people through mediumship as well as expand my creative abilities and enchant children with my books. .

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Mediumship is really tough, especially, when it doesn’t come naturally to me… being a very left brained, corporate type.. There are days when I have these fantastic connections and then suddenly… NOTHING! It’s extremely frustrating when you know you were able to do well and then fear that you’ve lost it. When that happens I turn to deeper meditation and am reassured by my guides that this is only temporary and to stay the course. It is all part of the unfoldment, they say. Ha! I want to bring out my iron and get things straight. I’ve learned that patience and practice is the key and most of all believing in myself and why I’m doing this.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
We are more than our physical bodies. Your loved ones are always there–just without a body. They remain in spirit and are eager to commuicate with you and having been waiting for the right medium to connect you. Everyone has the ability connect with spirits across the veil and there is nothing to fear. There are multiple realities, and each one as real as the next. It’s a matter of tuning in… much like tuning a radio dial to pick up another frequency.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Well, I’m currently 77, so I probably have maybe 15-20 years left so I suppose I’d get over FOMO–fear of missing out. Left in the dust and being considered a ludite or something, while technology whirls pasts me. I’ve begun to recognize, I am enough.
