We’re looking forward to introducing you to Elyse Bouwmeester. Check out our conversation below.
Elyse, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My two Children- They are amazing, funny and bring me so much happiness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Elyse Bouwmeester, a full-time Real Estate Broker in Cambridge and Managing Broker at Red and White Realty. I love helping families buy and sell homes, and nothing makes me happier than seeing clients find the perfect fit. Real estate is about people first, and I pride myself on always looking out for my clients’ best interests — with heart, honesty, and a little bit of fun along the way!
Beyond real estate, I’m a proud wife and mom of two who loves being actively involved in my community. Hosting local events, supporting small businesses, and connecting people brings me so much joy. I adore spoiling my clients with surprise gifts, heartfelt cards, and special gatherings to show just how much I appreciate them. Building lasting relationships is at the heart of everything I do, and I’m passionate about making sure my clients feel valued and connected to the best our community has to offer.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
That would be my husband, Nick. He has always encouraged me to dream bigger and do more. It was actually Nick who first suggested I get into real estate, seeing something in me long before I saw it myself. When I was offered the manager’s position, I was nervous and unsure — but he reminded me that it was something I could not only do, but truly excel at.
His support has been unwavering, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without him cheering me on every step of the way.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that hard things in life can actually lead to really great things. Sometimes, when something feels awful and unfair, it turns out to be your greatest lesson or the very thing that’s guiding you toward something more amazing than you could ever imagine.
It’s taught me to “ride the waves,” to embrace both the lows and the highs, and to always, always lead with gratitude.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d say my family and friends matter most. I’m a super social person and being around people truly charges my battery. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing others happy — whether it’s hosting a house full of people I love or simply bringing friends together. At the heart of it all, I just love creating moments that make others feel connected and cared for.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop worrying so much. Instead, I’d focus on finding even more ways to truly help people — both in my work and in my family life. I’d stop putting off family vacations and make them a priority, knowing that time and memories with loved ones are far more valuable than any worry about whether I “should” be working.
