Geanea, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
This is a loaded question, lol, but I would have to say I am currently learning how to honor my time, no matter what season I am in my life. Having that in my mind helps me stay present & connected to my dreams.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Geanea but I go by Gigi! I am a NYC-based tarot reader, numerologist, & a fan of most things strange, unusual, & esoteric. I have been reading tarot for over 15+ years. & studying numerology, including angel numbers for over 5 years years. I’ve also been studying astrology for the last 4 years.

Gigi’s Astro Trip came about because of an auto accident I was in 4 years ago. My ex & I was rear ended on the Verrazano bridge coming from New Jersey. As the car was spinning out of control, I heard a voice tell me “I know it’s scary, but you’ll be okay”. When the car stopped, I heard “get back into your magic”. I immediately knew what that meant.

I got into tarot & witchcraft back in my late teens & was dabbling with both on & off for years. This particular accident was my calling to come back into what I knew & expand my learning & experiences. What made me get into numerology was also because of the accident. The insurance company from the person who hit us, was able to pay for a rental for my boyfriend. When he went to go get the car, the amount on the receipt was $555.55. What are the odds of that happening? So I looked up what 5’s mean (conflict, change, & freedom) & I got sucked in automatically. I also felt like it was a test to see if I was truly paying attention.

As the months went by, I was perfecting my tarot & numerology skills, an ex friend of mine suggested I should start doing charging for readings. At first I wasn’t sure, but she along with others gave me encouragement, so February 2021, Gigi’s Astro Trip was born.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Ooh this is a good one. I would say a lack of trust & emotional intelligence can break the bond between people because if there is a lack of honesty & unwillingness to have difficult conversations when needed, the relationship will lack growth because people are reusing to look outside themselves.

Now what I think restores them is honesty. It’s not only about being honest about how you feel about that person, but how you can put a mirror up to yourself & be honest with what your needs & requirements are from people & if you’re able to return the same energy.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one thing to my younger self is that it does get easier. You will have friendships that you will treasure because the right people will come along, What matters today won’t necessarily matter tomorrow, so don’t sweat the small stuff.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Honestly it’s mostly an energetic feeling for me! Fads are very trendy, quick, sometimes mass produced as rather foundational shifts feel more realistic, practical, & not rushed. I feel that fads can be unreliable because there’s little thought, soul, heart, and effort put into what’s being made. Although foundational shifts for the most part I feel take more time but it’s because the intention behind it is more thought-out & better planned.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely & honestly situations like that have already happened in my life lol. Although it’s nice to be recognized for your efforts, what I have learned from those experiences is to become your biggest cheerleader, especially when nobody is watching because at the end of it all, you have yourself to take care of.
