We’re looking forward to introducing you to Haley Slade. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Haley, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My morning routine is my favorite. Every day, I wake up and my husband makes me coffee. We sit and have coffee together, talk about our day ahead, and just spend time being together before starting our day. Then, I read my Bible, check emails, and do any tiny, small tasks before diving into my full workday. I have a very slow, relaxed morning routine, and it’s PERFECT!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Haley Slade, and I’m the founder of Slade Copy House. We’re a digital copywriting agency that specializes in SEO and psychology-backed marketing. I weave God into everything I do here at SCH, and He has blessed every step I’ve taken since day one. While we don’t have a specific “niche,” we do love helping brands that want to make a difference in the world. We help you find what makes you different so you can MAKE a difference!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I grew up, even into early adulthood, believing I had no skills or talent. I thought I had no purpose in life and was just “taking up space.” I didn’t believe I was good at anything or had anything to offer. Honestly, it kept me in a very low spot until the Lord Himself pulled me out and saved me. I discovered copywriting shortly after, and I fully believe I’m walking in my God-given purpose now. I’m incredibly good at what I do, and now I have a team behind me who are equally as good at what they do. Little me would be so proud of who we’ve become.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of being rejected or abandoned was a common theme for me for the longest time. I was always afraid people would get too close and realize they didn’t like me, I was “too much,” or I wasn’t good enough. It was all lies of the enemy. I look back now and laugh at who I was and how far God has brought me. If He is for me, who can be against me? I have such strength and confidence in myself because I know who I am in Christ, and I know He made me fearfully and wonderfully. When those seeds of rejection start to come in or try to take root again, I pick them out before they can grow.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Hahaha, absolutely. I’m at the stage in my life where it’s not worth trying to be someone I’m not. What you see is what you get. Now, I am a very private person online. I do not put a lot of my life online publicly because I protect my personal life. But what I do share, I don’t sugarcoat or put on. You see my sarcastic, cheesy, ridiculous self just as I am to my friends and family.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m close to the Lord. When I’m reading, praying, and inviting Him in my life. There’s literally no peace like the one He can give. When I’m not chasing the next level in business, social media engagement, approval of others, etc. I feel most at peace when I just simply LIVE life with my friends, family, and the Lord.
