Story & Lesson Highlights with Harmony Obasi of Baltimore

Harmony Obasi shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Harmony, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is pretty balanced between work, learning, and creating. I start my mornings with a workout, then focus on content, filming, editing, or planning upcoming posts for Passportgoat. I usually wrap up the day catching up on emails, campaign details, or just resetting for the next day. I’m in a season of transition, so I’m giving myself space to figure out what’s next while staying consistent in both my creative and professional goals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Harmony, and I’m the creator behind @passportgoat, a lifestyle and travel platform where I share content around men’s fashion, grooming, fitness, and experiences that inspire people to live well and explore more. What makes my brand unique is the balance between style and substance. I focus on storytelling that feels real, relatable, and aspirational at the same time.

I started Passportgoat as a creative outlet while working in engineering and cybersecurity, and it’s grown into a space where I connect with people who value personal growth, good energy, and intentional living. Right now, I’m expanding into projects that blend lifestyle and storytelling, partnering with brands that align with travel, wellness, and men’s care.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is my relationship with Jalil. He taught me a lot about patience, communication, and how to show up for someone while still showing up for myself. Through that relationship, I learned to see my own strengths and areas I needed to grow in, not just as a partner, but as a person. It pushed me to be more self-aware, emotionally mature, and intentional about the kind of energy I bring into every space.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up when I lost my business partner, Jalil. That moment really shook me because we had built so much together, and suddenly I had to figure out how to move forward on my own. It forced me to rebuild not just the business, but my confidence and sense of direction. Looking back, it was one of the hardest chapters, but it also pushed me to grow, trust myself more, and realize that what I was building still had purpose, even if the path changed.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me are my values, my family, and leaving an impactful legacy. I care a lot about doing things with purpose, whether that’s through my work, my relationships, or the content I create. I want the people around me to feel inspired, supported, and reminded that they can build something meaningful too.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I lived with purpose, that I cared about people, stayed true to my values, and used my creativity to inspire others. I want the story to be that I showed what’s possible when you believe in yourself, keep your faith, and move with good intentions. More than anything, I hope people remember that I left an impact, not just through what I did, but through how I made them feel.
