Story & Lesson Highlights with Heather Squicciarini of Monmouth County

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Heather Squicciarini. Check out our conversation below.

Heather , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings begin at 5 a.m. when my husband wakes me with coffee. Before I drink it, I hydrate with water, minerals, and a banana—coffee on an empty stomach doesn’t agree with me. Since we live by the beach, we start the day with a drive to the ocean, talking through our plans as the waves set the tone for calm and clarity.

Back home, my husband prepares my lunch while I head to my studio for quiet time. This looks different each day—sometimes I prepare for a group sound bath, work on my course, connect with clients, or plan an upcoming event. I’ve learned to release rigidity and allow my mornings to flow, but the constant is taking time to connect with my heart. That practice grounds me for whatever the day brings.

Most mornings, I finish with a Peloton ride, a shower, and then head to my full-time job—carrying with me the energy of my own practices and the heart of my business. It’s not always easy to hold both, but it’s proof that you can create space for your dreams while still showing up in your everyday life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Heather Squicciarini, and I am the founder of Sunshine For the Soul, LLC. At the heart of my work is a simple but powerful truth: you are your own healer. Through Reiki, sound healing, and heart-centered guidance, I hold space for people to soften, reconnect, and remember the light that has always lived inside of them.
What makes my work unique is the intention woven into every detail. From the moment you book a session, I begin sending Reiki so your healing journey starts before you even arrive. I also infuse every session with Lotuswei Floral Essences, bringing the gentle medicine of nature into each experience.
Alongside 1:1 sessions and virtual offerings, I recently created The Story Reset—a 7-day course to help release the old patterns and beliefs that keep us stuck. It’s a journey back to the heart, a reminder that we don’t have to carry the heaviness of the past forever.
My mission is simple: to guide others back home to themselves—to the love, the peace, and the sunshine that has always been within them.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
That would be my husband, Michael. We met when I was just 14, and he has walked beside me through every season of life.

Even when my family didn’t approve, even when life pulled us apart for a time, he never stopped believing in me. He saw my strength, my determination, and my beauty long before I could. His unwavering love became an anchor—steady, constant, and true.

Because of him, I learned to see myself through kinder eyes. His faith in me became the mirror that helped me recognize my own light.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Allow yourself to be free of all those thoughts of trying to prove yourself and seeking approval from everyone outside of you. Let go of the comparisons. Get quiet enough to listen—your heart will always show you the way. Most of all, trust yourself.
There are no mistakes in life. You came here to live—to experience, to learn, to grow, and to keep becoming more of who you already are, which is abundantly worthy!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is love, connection, and kindness. Family has always been at the center of my heart—the closeness we share, the foundation we’ve built together, and the way we show up for one another no matter what. They’d also say that I care deeply about people feeling seen, supported, and loved for who they truly are, and that kindness is at the core of how I try to live and move through the world.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I love quiet time by myself, nature walks, and deep conversations. I feel most at peace when I’m in nature, traveling, and with my family. Nature has always been deeply healing for me—it grounds me, restores me, and reminds me of what truly matters. Traveling expands that sense of peace by allowing me to experience new landscapes and cultures, and it always reinforces the truth that we are all connected.

Whether I’m walking along the beach, exploring a new place, or simply being with the people I love, I find so much wisdom and calm in the reminders nature offers when we slow down and listen. And when I see the faces of my clients after a session—the softness, the lightness, the joy—it fills me with gratitude. Knowing I can hold space for someone to release, to reconnect, and to remember their own light brings me incredible joy.
