Jacqueline (aka Jacqine) Cohen-Baity shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline (aka Jacqine), thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m walking a path

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My company is called Original Approach Entertainment, LLC. I wrote and published a musical interactive e-cookbook with comedy stories and international recipes. I am a Chef, Comedian, Comedy Writer, Voiceover Artist, Keyboardist, Mentor, Singer, and Music Producer. I blended my talents. In the e-book, people can indulge in a stage play, sing along to recipes, read about traveling through adventures, cook recipes, enjoy various genres of my music, hear character voices, and enjoy some sound effects. It’s kitchen entertainment. I create recipes and cook many cuisines, including Greek, Italian, Spanish, Moroccan, Indian, French, Cajun, Mexican, American, Thai, Japanese, and Eastern European fusion. There are many desserts, frozen treats, soups, and salads with tips on what to have on hand for cooking.

I appeared in Food and Beverage Magazine, Pump It Up Magazine, Billboard, Dance Music Authority, Hitmakers Magazine, and Vybe Magazine. Television guest interviews included: Roku, Amazon TV, Manhattan Neighborhood Network, CSB Television, and several podcasts. I performed stand-up comedy at IHop where I created a stage production. I also performed for the Lori Landin Foundation. Other performances include Nells, Cafe Gianluca, Soundfactory Bar, and a Hot 97 radio in-person event. My music has been featured worldwide on many radio stations with over 220,000 listeners across 110 countries. I even worked with celebrity remixers on various other projects.
I am currently working on a television series for a broadcaster and various other projects.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I remember someone doubting my ability to get a technical job. After I graduated from college, I applied for a job, and someone said I wouldn’t be hired for the role and that, if hired, I couldn’t do it. I got the job and was successful at it. He was wrong. From then on, I was determined to go after the goal I was trying to achieve and not listen to negativity or doubt. I worked very hard. I had win after win on several projects, but I still think back occasionally to that first experience.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t waste time on closed doors and find excuses of why some people don’t reply. Wait for opportunities where you find there is reciprocal communication with people who value my talents.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Integrity, loyalty, and kindness are essential to me. I admire people who exhibit those qualities.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing exactly what I love and what I feel I was meant to pursue.
