Story & Lesson Highlights with Jessica Gabrielle of Marion county

We recently had the chance to connect with Jessica Gabrielle and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
My dreams! If I stopped I wouldn’t be as happy with myself and if I’m not happy , the people around me won’t be either .

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jessica Gabrielle and I am from Marion County SC ! I am a military brat which led me to travel and become musically inspired from different cultures growing up . This shaped me to be the woman I am today and for that I am proud! I am a Mother , Teacher and singer-songwriter. I spend my time usually focusing on helping the kiddos grow and when I’m not , I spend my time progressing with my music and dancing . This year March 2025 I dropped my latest Album ( WishfulThinking3) and I’m working on expanding my visuals and gaining more fans . My music is meant to heal and inspire , we all strive to be better everyday and my music reflects just that , growth ! I’m currently working with artists from SC and collaborating on projects together . I’ve learned that it’s better to do things together than alone , just have to find the right people 🙂

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My Father . He served 30 years in the Navy and always had 2 jobs . He always taught me to take care of my business first & that’s just what I do .

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain a year after I had my daughter . I was dealing with post partum depression and some childhood trauma that was becoming the best of me . I took my power back once I didn’t allow those situations to take control over me , the feelings were there but there was no voice to it. I can’t change what happened but I can change my mindset and do something about it . So I bought my first microphone that was $50 on Amazon and recorded my first single with my daughter on it . I never felt so good .. so I’ve continued recording ever since . It helps me put a voice to these feelings I have .

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That talent is what sells . When it really doesn’t . They look for the ones they can manipulate in signing bogus deals with no ownership .

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
Choosing myself and my peace .
