Story & Lesson Highlights with Jim Lewis of Marietta, GA

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jim Lewis. Check out our conversation below.

Jim, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
It has been great to be able to play the guitar some again. I had a shoulder injury and was not able to play for six months, I did not realize how much stress relief and joy it brought me just being able to make some music for a few minutes every day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jim Lewis, I am the President of Complete Water Services based in Marietta, GA. we provide treatment systems for process wastewater treatment from factories to make it safe to discharge to the environment. Our systems remove tons of pollution all across the US every day.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I understood at an early age that I would have to work if I wanted anything in life. Our family did not have much money growing up and I learned that working hard and being willing to learn more about your job could provide a chance to make a better life for yourself.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be patient on reaching your goals and don’t give up on growing up to be the kind of person you would like to be.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
There is a higher power.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I have always tried to do my best even if no one was watching. I heard that quote from someone later in life (not sure who said it) but it is a big part of your character. I have tried to hire people that have that ability and I am proud of how I see our staff live that every day.
