Story & Lesson Highlights with Jon Noel of DTLA

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jon Noel. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Jon, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
I’ve always had issues w/ being impatient and a lil impulsive- but in the past year I’ve realized that, while impulsivity can by hella useful as an artist or entrepreneur, it can def hinder relationships, my health & my overall plans for the future. I’ve learned that slowing down & waiting for new info can drastically alter my decision-making and progress. Who knew lol.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m primarily an artist but have recently leaned into a new lifestyle brand I founded a few months back called ‘THE NITE WE FELL’. It’s basically the brand all my work, clothing drops (more details soon) and branding will fall under for the years to come.

I’ve always been a self-taught, somewhat reclusive artist- but as I’ve rly cracked the code w/ this music shit I def wanna collaborate a lot more. Especially for my upcoming full length studio project, slated for release in the first half of 2026.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I met a girl in LA in 2022 – was casting her in a film & was genuinely expecting to never see her again after the shoot was over. I was in a low place but tryna figure things out – this was before I started rly taking my music seriously.

She invited me to hang a few times & I obliged, not realizing that it would turn into a relationship that I didn’t expect. I’m not sure I wanted it due to my own headspace & self-loathing at the time, but in retrospect she changed my life for the better. She built me up when I probably didn’t deserve it – saw me for who I was and helped me learn about myself thru her. I’d imagine she had some similar realizations. I’ll always appreciate her for that. Despite how unfavorably things ended.

She’s mad intelligent – so I guess I’m not surprised she saw me & reminded me who I was before I came back to myself. It was like a re-awakening. It was difficult. It was necessary. It was love.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
With music? Nah, there’s no alternative- this is me. It’s my life. Life without this felt like a part of me was missing. I burnt the boats from my old life. No going back, and I’m ok w/ that.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
Just because someone doesn’t like something I did/said, doesn’t mean it’s wrong/immoral/egregious, etc. The right things often feel wrong until hindsight.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Neglecting my social life. Not on some conceited shit, but I genuinely believe I’m in the top 1-2% of artists in terms of talent. But it doesn’t really matter if I don’t share this life with those I love, care about and trust.
