Story & Lesson Highlights with Jon Ososki

We recently had the chance to connect with Jon Ososki and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Jon, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would say integrity. I believe being honest with yourself and being honest with other people is an important quality. I believe this will help build trust in one’s life and work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an electronic music artist, multi-instrumentalist, and music composer. I studied songwriting at The Berklee College of Music in Boston and I’m currently a recording artist on Filter Label. As a composer I have been writing music for tv, films, media, and music libraries worldwide for the past eleven years. As an artist I create and release mostly instrumental and mostly electronic based music under my name Jon Ososki. I have my own publishing company Cold Sun Music and release most of my music under that publishing company along with other musical collaborations. Currently I’m promoting my latest album “A Blurred World” along with the single “Zen, Pt. 2” which is available on all streaming and downloading platforms.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
This is an interesting question, but for me very simple. What breaks the bonds between people is being dishonest. It’s hard to trust someone if you don’t believe them, either in what they say or what they do. What restores them is honesty and showing people you are honest.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
As many of my fans know I started out playing in a band and performing. Which is different from what I do now. I have always loved writing music, but it was always difficult for me performing on stage. I thought about giving up on music, and especially giving up on music as a career. I had to take some time off to reevaluate what I wanted in my music career, and what I wanted from my music. After that I started to understand where my strengths are, and what I was really good at. As I have said before, focusing on one thing I do really well and not stretching myself too thin has really helped me find the path in my music career.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes it is. I think being the real you or as best you can in public is always best in life and your career.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I would say simplicity. Simplicity and living a simple lifestyle is one of the most important things for me. I have always liked the ideas of simplifying and creating more of a minimal lifestyle. For me this means doing things with intention and purpose.
