juan Salinas shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning juan, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first thing I do when I wake up it’s do a 10 minute cold plunge, followed by a 10 minute stretching routine. Then I shower and go to church for Mass and meditation for 30 minutes. Then breakfast and start work
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Juan Salinas, the founder and CEO of Pnuff Crunch, a company born from my deep passion for health, fitness, and food science. As a PhD in Food Science and a certified sports nutritionist, I spent years developing foods that could genuinely support an active lifestyle — not just with clean ingredients, but with purpose-driven nutrition.
Pnuff Crunch is the only baked puff snack made from a unique blend of peanuts, navy beans, and brown rice, delivering a complete plant-based protein profile, high fiber, and slow-digesting carbs — all without added sugars or artificial ingredients. Each bag offers 20g of protein, making it a truly satisfying snack that fuels both body and mind.
What makes our brand special isn’t just the ingredients — it’s our mission. We’re here to prove that healthy can also be absolutely delicious. With Pnuff Crunch, people can snack without guilt or compromise, whether they’re athletes, parents, students, or anyone who just wants to feel good about what they eat.
We’ve come a long way since our launch — even earning a deal on Shark Tank with Mark Cuban — and we’re just getting started. Currently, we’re working on expanding our distribution across the U.S. and internationally, with exciting new retailer partnerships, innovative product extensions, and a growing online presence.
At the heart of it all is our commitment to helping people live better through functional snacking. My personal journey as an immigrant, scientist, and entrepreneur is woven into every step of this brand — and we’re building a movement, not just a snack.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Everything I know about work I learned from my parents. Both very hard working individuals but also very honest and ethical. My Dad was an engineer and build his own very successful construction company right after college. My mom was a stay home mom with 4 kids yet she still managed to start several businesses such as a mini market, video game room, food catering, hardware store, pharmacy and real state among other things she did in between. Seeing how my parents were so resilient and never complained has thought me to work hard and appreciate what we are given. it definetely prepared me for my entrepreneurial journey
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
what suffering has teach me is that life is never going to be exactly as you planned. There is a larger plan that we don’t know or understand but that is good. We just need to get thru the tough times and pivot as needed.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I believe that many smart and successful people feel they have accomplished what they got on their own. that is totally wrong. There is a higher power, a God, that is giving them this gift.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I think i would stop complaining and appreciate every moment that is given to me
