We recently had the chance to connect with July Jennifer Lamour and have shared our conversation below.
July Jennifer, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
The Art of Painting.
I have a profound passion for both oil painting and watercolor. These art forms bring me a sense of tranquility and beauty. When I immerse myself in painting, I truly lose track of time.
Currently, it’s challenging to carve out moments for myself, so my goal for 2026 is to dedicate more days to getting lost in my artwork. My mind is brimming with ideas.
Painting teaches me to embrace a slower pace and reminds me that perfection isn’t always the ultimate aim. As someone with a Virgo moon, I often struggle with perfectionism, constantly questioning how I can improve my work or myself.
Art alleviates that pressure and offers a chance to discover beauty in what flows naturally from the heart. With each brushstroke, I uncover more of my essence, gently touching the canvas. All my energy channels into this creative process, allowing me to feel free and fully present.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
When faced with a standstill in my life at the age of 42 I was struggling to find my footing but then clarity emerged. It was during this time that I discovered my true calling: my journey to help heal and nourish others through SkinCare. I went to Aveda and become an esthetician. I’m also a permanent makeup artist.
I offer more than just facials; I’ve been told I have hands of magic and in that my clients get the most noticeable results. But also, our time together transforms into a bonding experience. We share stories, laugh, cry, and heal together. In these moments, I discover my true destiny and fulfillment, which holds more value than any treasure, this is called healing.
My SkinCare path has also ignited a spark within me. With a holistic approach, I wanted to share this philosophy with my clients, leading me to create my own SkinCare line, Lotus & Moon. I believe that everything we apply to our skin is just as vital as what we consume. Frustrated by spending money on cosmetics that had overpowering scents and little effect, I grew weary of lotions that failed to provide genuine hydration with results.
So, last year, I decided to take action in my next dream. I’ve been on an exciting quest, crafting beautiful concoctions where I control the ingredients, ensuring they are natural and truly effective! I particularly enjoy making soaps, as it allows my artistic side to flourish. I love sharing all the unique creations that make me feel special because everyone deserves to experience healthy, beautiful and natural SkinCare! My passion is fueled through this and everything is crafted with love.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Losing my Dad to stage 4 lung cancer was a profound experience. Being there with him when he received his diagnosis transformed me entirely. It taught me to release everything I once clung to and to discover the true bonds that connect us to family.
Witnessing someone receive news that can change everything in an instant made me realize how precious life is. Cherish your loved ones and embrace the moments that may intimidate you. Live life to the fullest. Pursue all the things that frighten you, explore the activities you couldn’t try when you were younger, and dive into every curiosity you have. Live life fully.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I would say I started using all of my trauma into something powerful when I moved out at the ripe age of 16/17.
I decided I have power over my own happiness. I had many years after that as well where I struggled to find my light, my power but each time I make it through I find myself stronger, more independent, more loving, compassionate and caring.
Finding my healing and power is something I continuously work on. I’m an ever growing human.
I began transforming my trauma into something empowering when I moved out at the young age of 16 I made the decision to take control of my own happiness. Although I have faced several years of challenges throughout my life, I’m constantly discovering my light and strength. Every time I overcame an obstacle, I emerged stronger, more independent, filled with love, compassion, and care.
My journey towards healing and empowerment is ongoing; I am constantly evolving as a person.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Making those around me feel good. Spreading all the love. Hopefully making a tiny impact in everyone I meet. And cats, all animals
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I’ve already had clients tell me I can’t retire anytime soon because they “need” me! Such a wonderful feeling knowing I make a difference in the way people feel about their skin or even in their hearts.
But, above all, I would miss them the most!
