Story & Lesson Highlights with Kaitlyn Whitaker

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kaitlyn Whitaker. Check out our conversation below.

Kaitlyn, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
It’s honestly hard to say what a “normal” day looks like for me because I live the life of a neurodivergent. While routines do help me stay grounded, it’s often best for me to go with the flow of things. If I wake up feeling energized, I can jump right into my day – but I usually crash after a few hours and need a nap or downtime to unwind. On those days, it’s best for me to avoid coffee when I first wake up. If I wake up feeling drained, I have to take things slow. Coffee, deep breaths, positive affirmations, and sometimes a walk outside helps me find my energy again. Transitioning between activities throughout each day can feel either hyper-focused or overwhelming, often leaving me with a sense of guilt or frustration. My life overall consists of being an entrepreneur, a nail tech, an artist, a wife, a dog mom, a big sister, and a believer in God. Finding the time, energy and balance for all of these roles can be overwhelming but I manage by listening to my intuition. So in all honesty, a “normal day” for me looks like trusting my intuition and allowing it to guide me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Mrs. Kaitlyn Whitaker, the heart and hands behind Kreative K nails – a brand that started with creativity and courage and has grown into something guided by faith and purpose. As a neurodivergent artist and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that my creativity flows best when I follow my intuition and move with purpose. That same energy guides how I approach my work: every design is created with feeling, intuition, and a touch of divine inspiration. I love creating looks that are soft yet bold, peaceful yet playful, and that remind each client of their unique light. My mission is to make people feel seen, cared for, and confident in their individuality. Kreative K nails is more than a nail brand; it’s a space where beauty, peace, and playfulness come together.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
This is such a great question for me because I’ve had to do a lot of inner child work. I believed many things about myself as a child that simply were not true and were unfortunately spoken over my life, conditioning me to believe them. One of the biggest beliefs I had was that I wasn’t enough—smart enough, creative enough, or even lovable enough. I often felt like I had to hide parts of myself to be accepted. Over time, through reflection, self-compassion, and personal growth, I’ve learned that those childhood beliefs were not reality, they were just fears and misunderstandings that I was conditioned to believe by the people who raised me. Today, I recognize my worth, my creativity, and my capacity to love and be loved, and I work everyday to let my inner child feel safe and celebrated.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: The love God placed within you is beautiful and it will blossom into a life of peace. Every version of you is part of His plan, guiding you toward the serenity you were always meant to know. Trust the process.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
A foundational truth for me is that my worth was given to me by God. I don’t have to earn or prove it. I know I am guided and loved even when I don’t fully understand the path. That truth keeps me grounded in peace and trust. Another foundational truth I hold with grace is that I am allowed to feel my emotions fully without shame or judgement. Every feeling is valid and each one teaches me something about myself. I am learning to sit with what arises, to honor it and to let it pass without holding onto it or pushing it away.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply, something I’ve learned through experience and grace, is that peace and happiness don’t come from having everything figured out. It comes from trusting that everything is working together for my highest good, especially in times of uncertainty. I’ve noticed that many people search for peace and happiness through control and external things, but I’ve learned that it’s something that grows from having faith in God and trust in divine timing. Peace isn’t found in control; it’s found in surrender. When I surrender and allow myself to feel everything fully, without shame or judgement, I return to that quiet knowing that God is guiding me and that’s where true peace lives. I pray that more people find this understanding, so they can release the pressure to have it all figured out. Because at the end of the day, we’re all just learning and finding our way.
