We recently had the chance to connect with Karin Laniado and have shared our conversation below.
Karin, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Creating art makes my thoughts bloom and sets my imagination in motion, and from there, I simply don’t know how to stop. The only thing that can pause me is finishing what I’m working on and taking a moment to refocus on myself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I’m Karin Laniado owner of
” Kinkit.tattoos” , a tattoo artist and creative storyteller, known for crafting bold, one-of-a-kind designs that break boundaries. My work is all about transforming emotions and stories into art — each tattoo I create is deeply personal, fearless, and truly unforgettable.
Beyond tattooing, I mentor aspiring artists and lead exclusive seminars, helping the next generation of tattooists develop their skills and discover their own unique style.
Right now, I’m working on something I’m incredibly excited about – a high-end collection of real leather fashion pieces, each hand-tattooed with a design that exists nowhere else. It’s for those who love tattoos but want to wear art without putting it on their skin.
For me, art has no limits – it’s about pushing creativity further, breaking rules, and creating pieces that are as unique as the people who wear them.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I stopped trying to prove myself to others – now I create from the heart, trust my intuition, and focus only on bringing my dreams to life.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to breathe, trust the journey, follow my heart fearlessly, and let my intuition guide the way – because in the end, everything aligns exactly as it’s meant to.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Honesty — real, unfiltered honesty – is a cultural value I protect at all costs. I believe in being direct and speaking my truth, even when it feels a little too straightforward. It’s something deeply rooted in the place where I grew up – a warm country, not only in climate but also in spirit. People there are open, welcoming, passionate, and yes, sometimes fiery and bold. Some might call it ‘chutzpah,’ but to me, it’s authenticity. It’s who I am, and I carry that with me wherever I go.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’d definitely stop wasting time scrolling on social media. But honestly – who decided I even have ten years? Life doesn’t come with guarantees, so I’d rather live it fully, right now.
