Kate, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I like to start my mornings slowly and intentionally. The first thing I do is drink a glass of warm water, then move into my skincare routine, which always includes a gua sha face massage — it’s my little ritual for self-care and setting a calm tone for the day. After that, I take my dog Mario out for a walk, which gives me a chance to get some fresh air and clear my head. Then I squeeze in a bit of morning exercise to get my energy flowing. Finally, I sit down to enjoy breakfast with my favorite cup of cappuccino — it’s my signal that the day has officially begun.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kate Nichyparuk, and I’m the founder of GreenBeauty Inc, DBA Soapeauty. I started Soapeauty with a simple idea: to make pure, high-quality natural ingredients more accessible for people who love creating their own skincare, haircare, and wellness products.
We specialize in carrier oils, essential oils, butters, waxes, and salts — everything from jojoba and argan oil to shea butter and cocoa butter. What makes us unique is our commitment to purity, transparency, and sustainability. All of our products are carefully sourced, lab-tested, and packaged in eco-conscious materials, so our customers can trust what they’re putting on their skin or into their formulations.
What excites me most is seeing how people use our ingredients in their own creative ways — whether that’s a small business owner crafting handmade soaps or someone at home mixing their first DIY face oil.
At its heart, Soapeauty is more than a brand — it’s a community built on the belief that simple, natural ingredients can empower people to create, care, and connect.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I felt truly powerful when I first started selling my products and saw how much customers loved them. Knowing that something I created with care could become part of their daily routine — and even improve it — gave me a deep sense of purpose. That early feedback and connection showed me the impact my work could have, and it’s what still drives me today with Soapeauty.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
For me, that shift happened when I decided to channel my struggles into something meaningful — creating Soapeauty. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced setbacks, doubts, and moments where it would have been easier to give up. But instead of hiding the stress or disappointment, I chose to use it as motivation. Every challenge became proof that I was strong enough to build something of my own.
When customers started sharing how much they loved our products, I realized that my personal trials had fueled a business that helps others feel good, confident, and cared for. That was the moment pain turned into power — when I stopped seeing obstacles as defeats and started treating them as stepping stones toward growth.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The value I protect most is authenticity. I believe in being honest and genuine — in life and in business. For Soapeauty, that means staying true to our roots, being transparent with customers, and making products people can truly trust
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was someone who cared deeply — about people, about nature, and about creating something meaningful. That I built a brand that inspired trust and helped others embrace natural living, but also that I was a person who showed kindness, shared joy, and made time for family and friends. More than anything, I’d like the story to be that I left the world just a little better than I found it.
