We recently had the chance to connect with Kelsay Pattillo and have shared our conversation below.
Kelsay, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Honestly, what I’m most proud of building is the part no one sees, the foundation. The long nights spent refining systems, learning by trial and error, and building a business that feels aligned with who I am, rather than just chasing what looks successful on the outside.
It’s the integrity behind the brand, the way I care for clients, the way I protect my peace, and the boundaries I’ve learned to hold. Those quiet decisions have shaped Luxe Marketing Co. into something sustainable and true, not just beautiful from the outside.
And at the heart of it all is my “why.” I’ve built Luxe by staying rooted in purpose, the same thing I help my clients uncover and stand firm in for their own brands. That’s the part that keeps everything grounded, authentic, and meaningful, even when no one else can see it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Kelsay Pattillo, the founder and creative behind Luxe Marketing Co., a boutique branding and marketing studio based in Charleston, South Carolina. Luxe was born out of my love for artistry and strategy, helping creative brands not just look beautiful, but feel aligned with their deeper why.
After more than a decade in high fashion, luxury marketing, and visual merchandising, I wanted to create something that blended storytelling with strategy. A space where brands could express their identity with intention. Luxe Marketing Co. serves creative industries like fashion, interior design, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle, helping each client uncover their purpose and translate it into visuals, voice, and presence that truly connect.
What makes Luxe unique is how personal and intentional the work is. Every project is guided with care, purpose, and precision, not just to create something beautiful, but to build a brand that feels true to who you are.
I take a boutique, hands-on approach to every client experience, blending artistry and strategy so the work feels aligned, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in your why.
Right now, I’m expanding Luxe’s offerings with new strategic tools and accessible resources, all created to help business owners gain clarity, direction, and confidence in their brand presence. It’s less about trends and more about helping people see their brand through a clearer, more intentional lens that reflects their story and their why.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that’s shaped how I see myself the most is my relationship with God. My faith has grounded me through every season. The highs, the pivots, and the moments that didn’t make sense at the time.
It’s taught me that success doesn’t have to be rushed or loud to be meaningful. Trusting His timing has completely changed the way I move, in business and in life. It’s where I’ve learned to find peace in the process, purpose in the waiting, and confidence in who I’m becoming.
That quiet trust, that constant reminder that I’m being guided, it’s shaped not just how I see myself, but how I build everything around me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be this: You don’t need to prove your worth to anyone.
People may misunderstand you, overlook you, or even doubt you, but your value was never meant to be defined by them. God already called you worthy.
Stay rooted in His purpose for your life, even when it doesn’t make sense yet. One day, you’ll see that every “not yet” was protection, every delay was direction, and every season had meaning.
You’re already enough, you always were.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the marketing and branding world is that success is measured by how loud you are, how often you post, how perfectly curated your feed looks, or how many followers you have.
It’s easy to get caught up in the noise, but real impact comes from clarity and connection, not constant motion. Another lie is that you have to fit into a trend to be relevant. I’ve seen so many creative business owners lose their spark trying to sound like everyone else.
At Luxe Marketing Co., I’ve learned, and I teach my clients, that alignment will always outperform aesthetics. When your brand reflects your why and stays rooted in purpose, the right people find you. You don’t have to chase what’s trending to build something timeless.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m finally doing what I was born to do. For a long time, I chased what I thought I should do, the path that looked stable, polished, or impressive on paper. But God had other plans.
What I do now, helping others uncover their why and build brands that feel like home, is the most natural expression of who I am. It’s creative, purposeful, and rooted in everything I’ve walked through.
Stepping into my calling meant unlearning what the world said success should look like and trusting what God was quietly shaping all along. Now, I get to help others do the same, to build from a place of purpose, not pressure.
