Story & Lesson Highlights with Kelsey Banfield

We recently had the chance to connect with Kelsey Banfield and have shared our conversation below.

Kelsey, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’ve spent over ten years building my coaching practice. That doesn’t just include worksheets and meditations, it’s required deep study, honing my intuition, and working with hundreds of clients to make it the most effective coaching practice it can be. I’m proud I’ve stuck with it and created a program that fits people no matter where they are in their lives and helps them make improvements they love so they’re living happier, more fulfilling lives. Recently I’ve been building my podcast, Let’s Have a Good Week. I started it because I had so much to share about the energy of each week and my newsletters were getting too long. So, I talk it through every Monday on a podcast instead so people are totally prepared for the energy of the week ahead and how they can practically harness it for their lives.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the owner of Kelsey Banfield Coaching. My coaching focuses on helping you create shifts in your life with a blend of approachable action steps and spiritual growth.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ve always been a deep thinker and super curious about human behavior. As a child I was always reading and writing little stories in my head about people I met. I’d try and predict their lives and I could often predict the outcomes of their decisions. But I didn’t advertise it because even I didn’t truly understand what I was doing. I also have always loved astrology and more esoteric concepts like telepathy and parapsychology. I’ve been very intuitive my whole life and believe we live in a benevolent Universe that’s always conspiring on our behalf.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I changed my mind about blogging when the world became more about influencing and less about writing. I just couldn’t put myself in the position of inspiring people to shop, shop, shop, when I’m more about living in a routine than buying stuff all the time. I’m far more interested in a stable, long-term life that’s well-curated than shopping hauls. Moving into the self-growth and spiritual space has been far more fulfilling and meaningful to me.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. it is now. I’m not a good actress and I appreciate not having to tell stories or fall into character when I’m out in the world.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I truly see every single one of my clients. I know they appreciate that I meet them with no assumptions, no airs, no expectations. I really do see the possibilities for everyone I meet and I share that with them. I know they appreciate what I see and would miss it.
