Story & Lesson Highlights with KING PIXXY

We’re looking forward to introducing you to KING PIXXY. Check out our conversation below.

KING, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think a lot of people—especially in the creative and events industry—are secretly struggling with burnout and self-doubt, but they rarely say it out loud. There’s this pressure to always look booked, successful, and creatively “on,” even when you’re exhausted or unsure.

Many clients also struggle silently with the fear of not being “good enough”—not looking perfect in photos, not having the “Instagram wedding,” or feeling like they have to live up to unrealistic expectations. But no one talks about that.

In both cases, people are often just trying to keep it together and make everything look effortless. That’s why I try to bring understanding and calm energy to every shoot—because I know how much people are carrying behind the scenes.

Sometimes, just being real, kind, and present can make a huge difference.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kingsley Bonsu, and I’m a passionate wedding photographer and videographer, working under my brand name KING PIXXY. I specialize in capturing timeless moments and authentic emotions that couples will cherish for a lifetime.

At KING PIXXY, it’s not just about taking pictures or shooting videos—it’s about telling love stories in the most artistic, creative, and memorable way. Every wedding is unique, and I approach each one with fresh eyes, making sure to reflect the couple’s personality, culture, and vision in every frame.

What makes KING PIXXY special is my dedication to quality, my keen eye for detail, and the genuine connection I build with my clients. I’m currently working on expanding my brand to include destination weddings and cinematic love story films that push the boundaries of traditional wedding coverage.

Whether it’s through photography or videography, my mission is simple: to turn beautiful moments into lasting memories.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One of the things that has really shaped how I see the world is my camera—not just as a tool, but as a lens through which I’ve learned to observe people, emotions, culture, and beauty in the smallest details.

Through photography and videography, I’ve come to realize that every moment holds a story, and that the most powerful ones often happen in between the big events—in a glance, a touch, a smile. This perspective has helped me appreciate life more deeply, connect with people on a human level, and find meaning in moments others might overlook.

It’s this worldview that drives KING PIXXY: the belief that love, emotion, and human connection are worth documenting beautifully and truthfully.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up. Like many creatives, I went through a season where the pressure felt overwhelming—unsteady income, constant comparison, self-doubt, and feeling like my work wasn’t being seen or appreciated. There were moments I questioned if pursuing photography and videography full-time was even worth it.

But what kept me going was remembering why I started—the passion I have for telling stories, the joy I see in a couple’s eyes when they relive their special day through my lens, and the purpose behind what KING PIXXY stands for. I also reminded myself that growth takes time, and that every successful brand has had its struggles.

Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t quit. Those hard times shaped me, sharpened my vision, and taught me resilience. They made me work harder, push my creativity further, and stay true to my craft. And that’s a big part of what makes KING PIXXY what it is today.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the wedding photography and videography industry tells is that gear is everything—that unless you have the most expensive camera or latest tech, you can’t produce quality work. The truth is, vision, storytelling, and emotion matter far more than any piece of equipment.

Another common lie is that everything has to be picture-perfect—flawless lighting, posed smiles, staged emotions. But real love stories aren’t perfect. They’re raw, emotional, sometimes messy—and that’s what makes them beautiful. At KING PIXXY, I believe in capturing the real moments, not just the highlight reel.

Lastly, there’s this idea that you have to follow trends to stay relevant. But trends fade. What lasts is authenticity and timeless storytelling. I focus on giving couples memories that will still feel meaningful decades from now—not just trendy edits that fade with time.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think what my customers would miss most is the personal connection and care I bring to every project. At KING PIXXY, I don’t just show up with a camera—I show up with intention, passion, and a deep respect for each couple’s unique story.

People often tell me they feel seen, comfortable, and genuinely celebrated when I work with them. I believe that’s what makes the photos and videos come alive—it’s not just the visuals, it’s the emotion behind them.

They’d also miss the way I go the extra mile—whether it’s capturing the unplanned moments, calming nerves on the big day, or delivering edits that feel like a personal movie, not just a highlight reel.

In the end, I think they’d miss the KING PIXXY experience—not just what I do, but how I make people feel through my work.
