Story & Lesson Highlights with La’Dreamer Lark of Harlem

We recently had the chance to connect with La’Dreamer Lark and have shared our conversation below.

La’Dreamer, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
From the work itself—every attempt, mistake, and revision is showing me the next lesson.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is La’Dreamer Lark, and I’m the founder of La’Dreamer & Daisy Helping Hands Foundation Inc., which I started with my daughter, Dreamer “Daisy” Jones-Lark. Our organization focuses on giving back to the community through health, education, and outreach programs that make a real difference.

What makes our foundation special is that it’s built on family, love, and service. We work to support seniors, youth, and families through food drives, wellness events, literacy programs, and community partnerships. I’m passionate about creating opportunities that bring people together and help improve overall well-being.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Santa clause is not real lol

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power after I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2017 and suffered a stroke in 2018. Those moments completely changed my life. At first, I was scared and felt defeated — I didn’t understand why this was happening to me. But over time, I realized that my story could inspire and help others who were facing their own challenges.

Instead of letting my diagnosis define me, I used it as motivation to keep going and to serve others through my foundation. Living with MS taught me strength, faith, and purpose. I turned my pain into a mission — to uplift my community, advocate for health awareness, and remind people that even in the hardest seasons, there’s still power in perseverance.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One project I’m deeply committed to—no matter how long it takes—is building and expanding community-based health and education programs through my organization, La’Dreamer & Daisy Helping Hands Foundation Inc. I believe that access to health education, wellness resources, and academic support can transform communities, especially in underserved areas like Harlem. Over the years, I’ve seen how consistent outreach, even in small steps, can create lasting change. My goal is to continue developing programs that promote health equity, literacy, and empowerment for both youth and seniors. No matter how long it takes, I’m dedicated to seeing this mission thrive and become a sustainable model that uplifts generations.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m giving back to my community and seeing the positive impact it creates. Whether it’s organizing a health fair, distributing school supplies, or helping seniors access vital services, those moments remind me of my purpose. Being surrounded by people who are uplifted, supported, and inspired brings me a deep sense of calm and fulfillment. It’s in those moments—when compassion and action come together—that I feel most grounded and at peace.
