We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lindsay Carter. Check out our conversation below.
Lindsay, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Absolutely. There was a point early in my blogging journey when I felt this constant pressure to grow quickly—to post nonstop, accept every collaboration, and chase every opportunity that came my way. I thought saying “yes” to everything was the key to success.
But over time, I realized that rushing only led to burnout and confusion about what I truly wanted my brand to stand for. Taking a step back and slowing down allowed me to realign with my purpose and build something that felt authentic—like my travel and fashion blog, and later, The Female Growth community.
I’m so grateful I didn’t act fast during that time because it taught me that growth built with intention always lasts longer than growth built on urgency.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Lindsay Carter, a Las Vegas-based travel and fashion blogger, photographer, and creator. I share travel guides, fashion inspiration, and lifestyle content that blends style, adventure, and authenticity. In 2024, I went full-time with my blog and expanded into modeling and UGC content, building a community called The Female Growth, where I provide tools and inspiration for women entrepreneurs and creators.
What makes my brand unique is that it combines real-life experiences with curated style and travel insights—whether it’s planning the perfect honeymoon, discovering hidden gem destinations, or sharing fashion finds that are both stylish and approachable. Right now, I’m focused on growing my content platforms, launching digital products to help other creators and entrepreneurs, and continuing to create engaging, meaningful content for my community.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I used to believe that success meant following a traditional path — go to school, pick one career, and stick with it forever. I thought constantly changing directions meant I was lost or unsure of myself. Now, I see that every pivot I’ve made — from photography to marketing to launching my travel brand — was part of discovering who I really am and what I love most. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from staying on one path; it comes from having the courage to evolve and follow your passions, even when the route looks different than you imagined.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I think I truly stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power when I faced the challenges of my childhood and early career. I was often called “fat” as a child, and for the longest time, I never thought I could be a model or have any kind of platform where people would look up to me. Losing opportunities during COVID, like photographing the Atlanta Falcons, forced me to confront disappointment and uncertainty all over again. But instead of letting those setbacks define me, I chose to rebuild — moving to Texas, starting fresh in marketing, and eventually launching my travel agency and blog. Now, I see my struggles — from childhood insecurities to career pivots — as fuel for my creativity and purpose. My pain became my power, and it drives me to inspire others to believe in themselves, even when the world tells them they can’t.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I like to think the public version of me is the real me. I don’t put on a mask—I show up as I am. At the same time, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, because you never know the battles someone’s facing. That combination of authenticity and empathy really shapes how I live and connect with others.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I inspired them to chase their passions and create a life they truly love. That I led with authenticity, turning challenges into opportunities, and shared my experiences openly—whether through travel, fashion, or my work as an entrepreneur. I want to be remembered as someone who showed kindness, encouraged growth, and believed that pursuing your dreams with heart and courage could make a difference.
