Story & Lesson Highlights with Louize Fiore of Pompano Beach

We recently had the chance to connect with Louize Fiore and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Louize, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
As an attorney, I take pride in how my trial and litigation skills have sharpened over time. What makes me most proud, though, is my ability to collaborate with other outstanding attorneys—some of whom I deeply admire and consider far more experienced than myself. Working alongside such legal minds, whether as co-counsel or in strategic collaboration, has allowed me to refine my approach and deliver powerful results for my clients. It is both humbling and empowering.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Louize Fiore, and I am the proud owner of Aequibelli Law, PLLC, based in Pompano Beach, Florida. We focus on Immigration Law statewide, as well as Complex Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, and Real Estate Law.

My journey began in São Paulo, Brazil, where I was born and raised until the age of ten, when my family immigrated to the United States. Since I was just five years old, I knew I wanted to practice law in America. Going through the immigration process myself solidified my passion—not only for the practice of law but also for advocating for immigrants who, like me, seek to build a better life here.

Aequibelli Law was built on the belief that the practice of law should be about people first. We combine skillful trial advocacy with compassionate client care, ensuring that every client feels heard, respected, and well-represented.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I have been fortunate to learn from many mentors throughout my career. Two stand out above all: Carlos F. Gonzalez, who has guided me in Complex Civil Litigation, and Inna Shapovalov, who has been instrumental in shaping my skills in Immigration Law. Their mentorship has been invaluable—not just in teaching strategy and legal nuance but in showing me how to approach law with integrity and determination.

Beyond these two incredible mentors, I have also learned from countless other attorneys—both from their successes and their mistakes. Collectively, their influence has made me a stronger, more resilient, and more creative attorney.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: You will make it to your goals—trust yourself.

My journey has been anything but linear. From taking care of family during my mother’s battle with breast cancer, to returning to college years later as a double major while working full-time, to raising nephews while interning at a law firm—I faced many curveballs. But every obstacle taught me persistence and resilience.

I went on to graduate from NSU in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I then earned my JD from the University of Miami in 2018, graduating Cum Laude, and passed the Florida Bar that same year.

Launching Aequibelli Law during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic required yet another pivot. But instead of allowing uncertainty to paralyze me, I embraced creativity and resourcefulness. Each challenge reinforced the truth that success is not about a straight path—it’s about perseverance, adaptation, and refusing to give up.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would definitely say food—I love cooking and sharing meals! But beyond that, they’d tell you I live for honesty, standing up for what’s right, and fighting for progress.

They often joke that being a trial attorney is the perfect fit for me because I will always speak up for justice, no matter the odds. One of the running jokes is that I could be on my way to the hospital in an ambulance and would still find a way to answer a client’s call—because that’s who I am. Showing up for people is what matters most.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
One of the biggest misconceptions about attorneys is that we are “money-hungry” and disconnected from our clients. At Aequibelli Law, we stand for the exact opposite.

Our firm was founded on values of compassion, transparency, and dedication. Every case represents a person, a family, or a dream. We are not just legal advocates—we are partners in our clients’ journeys. My hope is that my legacy is defined not by myths about the profession, but by the lives changed through the work we do and the trust we build.
