Story & Lesson Highlights with Marie Lewis of Atlanta

Marie Lewis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Marie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building the systems and structures that keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Most people see the polished end product, the website launch, the event, the seamless client experience, but they don’t see the hours spent mapping workflows, testing processes, and refining the small details that prevent fires before they start. That invisible infrastructure is what allows creativity to thrive without feeling unstructured, and it’s the part of my work that I know changes everything, even if no one else notices it directly.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Marie Lewis, a systems strategist and the founder of Royal Executive Assistant, Inc. I help purpose-driven business owners, from coaches and creatives to corporate leaders and nonprofit founders, get their operations, SOPs, and workflows running like a well-oiled machine. My work blends strategic thinking with hands-on implementation so clients do not just get big ideas, they get fully functional systems that make their businesses easier to run and scale.

What makes my work unique is that I do not believe in cookie-cutter solutions. Every process I design is tailored to fit the voice, goals, and flow of the business it is built for. Right now I am focused on refining service experiences that remove friction for clients, creating live SOP-intensive sessions, and developing resources that help leaders build sustainable and efficient backends without sacrificing excellence or the human touch.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was realizing I could take apart computers and phones and put them back together. There was a thrill in seeing every piece come apart and then reassemble into something fully functional again. It was more than just fixing things, it was the mindset of understanding how something worked from the inside out and knowing I had the skill to bring it back to life.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. There was a season when I was running my business, raising my family, and facing personal challenges that felt heavier than anything I had ever experienced. I truly felt like I could not carry it anymore. But God reminded me that I was never meant to carry it alone. In prayer, I found the strength I did not have in myself. He gave me clarity to see what mattered most and peace to release what I could not control. Choosing to lean on Him instead of giving up did not just keep me going — it deepened my faith and made me stronger and more intentional than I have ever been.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth that is so foundational in my life that I rarely say it out loud is that everything I am and everything I have comes from God. My skills, my opportunities, my resilience — none of it is by chance. I believe He is the source, the sustainer, and the reason I am able to build, lead, and serve the way I do. Because that truth is so deeply woven into how I live, I often operate from it without feeling the need to explain it. It is the lens I see everything through, whether I am making decisions in business or navigating challenges in life.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I loved God deeply and lived in a way that reflected His grace and excellence. That I built things that outlasted me, not just in business but in people, helping others find clarity, confidence, and structure to pursue their calling. I want them to remember me as someone who gave fully, served with intention, and never compromised on what mattered most. If my life points even one person closer to God and shows them they can walk in their purpose with faith and excellence, then I have done what I was here to do.
