We recently had the chance to connect with Marquieta Luckey and have shared our conversation below.
Marquieta , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me involves managing multiple aspects of the business—from planning content and engaging with clients to tracking sales and overseeing operations. I start the day by reviewing goals, checking messages or orders, and setting priorities. The rest of the day might include networking, marketing, or developing new strategies to grow the business. I like to stay organized and hands-on, making sure every detail aligns with the brand’s mission and customer experience.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Marquieta Luckey, a massage therapist and wellness advocate passionate about helping people heal, relax, and reconnect with their bodies. Through my work, I focus on creating personalized therapeutic experiences that promote balance, stress relief, and natural healing.
My brand is built on the belief that self-care isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. What makes my approach unique is the way I blend traditional massage techniques with holistic wellness practices, such as aromatherapy, mindfulness, and natural health education. I’m passionate about empowering my clients to take charge of their own healing journey, both inside and outside of the treatment room.
Right now, I’m also expanding into lifestyle wellness — sharing knowledge about natural supplements like sea moss and products that support women’s health. My goal is to create a space and community where people can feel good, look good, and live well from the inside out.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I used to believe that I had to fit in or be perfect for people to value me. Over time, I’ve learned that my individuality and authenticity are my greatest strengths. I no longer try to shrink myself to meet others’ expectations — I embrace who I am and the unique path I’m on.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized that healing isn’t something to be ashamed of — it’s something to be shared. My own challenges taught me empathy, patience, and the importance of self-care. Instead of suppressing what hurt me, I began using that energy to help others release their pain too. That’s when my purpose as a healer truly came alive — turning my experiences into power, compassion, and service.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely on the ideas of people who believe in resilience — authors, teachers, and everyday individuals who turn pain into purpose. Their stories remind me that no matter where you start, you can always create something meaningful if you stay true to your values and keep showing up.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think my customers would miss the experience — the calm atmosphere, the healing energy, and the way I make them feel renewed inside and out. Many of my clients say my sessions help them release more than just physical tension; they walk away lighter, both mentally and emotionally.
