Hi MEGHAN, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would absolutely hire myself. I’m experienced. I’ve been working as an mua for 7 years now. Im always friendly and upbeat. I have consistent great reviews over the years. I genuinely enjoy what I do and that shows through in my personality and my work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Meghan Johnson. Im a 41 year old traveling freelance makeup artist. Specializing in Bridal airbrush and boudoir makeup. I travel all over wisconsin glamming brides on their special day.
My business name is Winlulee beauty by Meghan johnson LLC or Winlulee Beauty for short.
I’ve been in business for 7 years.
The word Winlulee comes from my older brother passing in 2015. I took his middle name (lee) my middle name (lucille) and my younger brothers middle name (winlatin) and made a word. I wanted to create something original while also making it a tribute to my big brother in a way.
I actually didn’t start my business until I was 34 years old. Which was a little scary. Turns out there is all ages working as muas in the area.
Im so excited for what these next 5 years bring.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I was desperately and painfully shy. Worrying a lot. Scared to do so many things. I think I believed I was less than others. Today I absolutely dont believe that. Im proud of myself, my family and my work. I wish I could go back to my younger self, shake her and say, “GET OVER IT!”
When did you last change your mind about something important?
When I first started as an mua I was strictly going to stay in smaller event makeup. Weddings intimidated me because its such a big important day for someone. I ended up changing my mind and working in the wedding/bridal industry. Now brides have become my main focus an an mua

I would stop worrying so much about things I cant control.
