Story & Lesson Highlights with Michael (Jus Mic) Stewart of Brooklyn

Michael (Jus Mic) Stewart shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Michael (Jus Mic), we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings start with prayer, followed by reviewing work emails, listening to an inspiring message, and dedicating time to practice on the keys—all within the first 90 minutes to set a productive and focused tone for the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an artist, music producer, and composer on a mission to bring powerful stories to life — through music, film, and content that moves people. Right now, I’m diving deep into short films and expanding my reach across social media.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, free, and unfiltered, someone who created just because it felt right, not because it was expected. I was driven by wonder instead of pressure, by authenticity instead of approval.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, empathy, and humility, lessons success could never reach. When everything falls apart, you see who you really are without the noise. Pain stripped away the illusions I had about control and perfection. It taught me to appreciate small wins, to listen more, and to grow even when no one’s watching. Success shows you what you can achieve, but suffering shows you what you’re made of.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
That’s a tricky question. For the most part yes but people don’t see my failures and struggles. The public version of me is a piece of me, but not the whole me. It’s the part I choose to share—the curated version shaped by context, goals, and boundaries. The ‘real’ me includes my private thoughts, struggles, and growth that don’t always make it to the surface. Both are real, but one is just more visible.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I’d stop worrying about what people think and stop saying ‘yes’ to things that don’t fulfill me. I’d stop living on autopilot and start being intentional about every moment. I’d stop scrolling, stressing, and chasing things that don’t matter. I’d stop holding grudges and start spending more time with the people I love making more memories & having no excuses.
