We recently had the chance to connect with Morgan Peaceman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgan, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think that, in my niche and from my perspective, others tend to struggle with planning efficient meals for themselves and their families and are afraid or nervous to reach out for advice or research meal plans and options to make planning more accessible and approachable.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Morgan Peaceman, the recipe creator and edible storyteller behind Nomaste Hungry, where I share easy, family-friendly meals using wholesome (and accessible!) ingredients with zero fuss. I created the blog to make home cooking feel doable and fun, not overwhelming. Everything I post is tested right in my own kitchen with help from my husband and our two little taste testers. What makes Nomaste Hungry special is its focus on food that fits real life — think weeknight dinners that come together fast, meal prep breakfasts, cozy seasonal dishes, and leftovers you’ll really look forward to. Right now I’m working on expanding into meal-planning tools with weekly downloadable meal plans, all with the same goal: to help people fall in love with cooking again, one bite at a time.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I’ve had a lot of different tribulations to overcome since I was barely a double-digit child. I lost my mom to breast cancer at 13, my dad was an addict and abusive, and almost had our home taken away by the bank. These situations and events shaped my purview of the world by understanding that nothing is finite. Everything that we endure teaches us to embrace change, become brave, and lead with kindness and optimism.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Overcoming those negative and debilitating events of my life, I was able to heal the wounds and voids by finding my own village of family members and friends who are family to lift me up when I need it, bring me down to reality if I am floating above the clouds, and support me in decisions in a way I’ve never been supported. I lean heavily on my husband, my aunt, my close friends, and I would not be here without their love and belief that I can persevere.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am as real and authentic to myself as I can be on and off the digital page and in social apps. I am unapologetically me in everything I do, say, feel, and create. Integrity and kindness are two big values I hold dear to my heart and for me to pretend I am something I am not just for likes, comments, page views, or whatnot, would be a waste of my own time and my readers time. The best thing I can do is to emulate myself publicly the same way I would with a close knit group of friends.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
If I gave up my business, my blog, my passion for cooking, I would regret not following through and just throwing in the towel at each hurdle presented to me. It would be my biggest regret if I allowed naysayers, critics, nasty comments online to bring me down. There are so many things I haven’t done yet, and I am looking forward to all of it.
