Mrs. Chynelle Priyanka Stephen shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Chynelle Priyanka, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Who are you learning from right now?
It’s been 8 years now that I’ve finished my 2nd bachelors and I’ve always been a student at heart since then.
Books have been my major source of learning and I keep taking courses to upgrade myself.
Books give me an insight and a peak into the best minds across the globe.
But this year, I took a leap of faith and decided to complete my Masters.
Hand on my heart, I decided to take up and do an MBA.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Chynelle Priyanka Stephen, an artist and designer by profession but I dabble in all the fields of design and love to experiment with different streams related to art, design, jewelry, graphics, fashion and illustration.
CrackPotByCPS is a labor of my creative aspirations.
With a learning mindset, I’m curious and eager to explore different avenues.
So you can call me a Multidisciplinary artist.
I love creating handpainted art and designs and love doing that for various surfaces and with various mediums.
I’m a proud momma to a specially-abled baby Aryan, who is the source of my Joy and Happiness.
This small business that I run, is not just about building products by hands but a way to bring JOY into people’s lives.
We are in the business of JOYPRENEURSHIP.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I feel that the part of me that always said YES to things even if it was inconvenient is the one which has served it’s purpose and now must be released.
The part of me that had no boundaries.
I learned a few hard lessons in my life and relationship, that taught me that you can be a good person but also learn how to say NO and walk away when the time is right.
I heard somewhere that good people pay a price for being too good than bad people pay for being bad.
And that really hit hard!
So this version of me comes with lessons and boundaries.
I say ‘No’ more often now.
And that’s ok!!
You need boundaries and you must learn to respect it yourself.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would definitely tell my younger self to take it easy and not be so hard on yourself.
It’s Ok and you don’t need to rush things.
We are all moving according to our own path and timeline.
There is no rat race to reach a goal post faster or quicker.
You don’t have to compete with others.
Just be better than what you were yesterday.
You just need to be better tomorrow.
That’s all life is about.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes a 100%.
And I tell you this because I’m not afraid to show my vulnerability to the world.
My vulnerability is my Superpower and not my weakness.
So whatever I share is the unadulterated version of me speaking with honesty.
This year I started my public speaking journey and trust me, it was scary.
But I owned it, stuttering and all.
Learning from my mistakes and improving.
Getting 1% better.
Daily.
Life is all about authenticity and I value that alot.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The thing I want people to remember most about me is my ability to take unconventional choices in life.
Whether it was not taking up the job at GOOGLE.
Whether it was choosing to be a badass mom to a specially-abled baby and working on a business at the same time.
Whether it was walking out of a deep relationship, where we were never valued.
Whether it was taking a stand to improve my mental health.
Whether it is getting back to studies at the age of 33.
I value my curiosity, my creativity and my spirit of adventure to make bold and unconventional choices.
I’ve always pushed boundaries that were too comfortable and that had served me well.
And I’ve grown as a person.
I may not be making tons of money but I’m living tons of real experiences that most people may never get a chance to live through.
I want people to remember me for that.
