Mrs. Ebony Stewart shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Ebony, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Yes, I’m not a person who rushes when it comes to life changing decisions. Things that will change the direction of my life paths or that will impact more than my own path. I’m a woman of FAITH! I pray, think things through throughly and be still about an idea before I make any move or before I speak things into fruition.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ebony C. Stewart I’m a Creative Entreprenur, Founder of EbonyCattouse Events, Your Travel Advisor and Creator of “Glam In A Box”.
With all 3 of my brands wether it be celebrations, travel and decor one thing they all have in common. I will always greet you and leave you with a smile. What makes my brand so unique is not only in the service but how I make my clients feel. I listen, I understand and when you think I don’t I do my best to make sure I do.
I’m presently working on releasing some new designs for my “Glam In A Box” Tri-State and Caribbean collection and new collection of ebooks.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was as when I performed on stage as a kid. It felt liberating and free
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The pandemic!
That was the last time I almost gave up. I had ano idea when things would go back to “normal” I lost hope, however; I was able to stand tall, locked into my faith and push forward. First thing came to mind, I was not the only one, This is the time to shift and pivot.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“Luxury means expensive.”
That’s the industry’s favorite illusion. Vendors, planners, even venues push the narrative that if something costs a lot, it must be luxury. But true luxury is about experience, the ease, the personalization, the feeling that every detail was thought of just for you. Money doesn’t automatically buy that.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My customers would miss my vusionary eye, the feeling of being care for, my boldness and honesty, and my overall energy and presence. Because we are always going to have a good time!
