Story & Lesson Highlights with Nadia M. of Atlanta

We recently had the chance to connect with Nadia M. and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nadia, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I try to wake up anywhere from 5a to 6:30a to get some time to myself. Definitely get bonus points if I get up at five, that way I can have a slow morning and get some personal work done before my 9-5. During this time, before the thoughts really settle in, I listen to a sermon, Beyonce or whomever I’m hyperfixating on at the moment, lol. I’m setting intentions for the day, bringing my mood up if it’s not where I want it to be, then I’ll head to the gym. When the set is complete, I hit the showers and start on my intentions again, visualizing how I want the day to go and flow. I may go to the park afterwards to journal or head into work early.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Hi, I’m Nadia, a Holistic Practitioner and the founder of Qveeng Bee’s Luxury Care and The More Life Project. I enjoy helping people take care of their mental health and create a lifestyle in a way that feels natural and personal to them. I especially love working with Black women, creatives, and business owners because I know firsthand how much we pour into others while sometimes neglecting ourselves.

What makes my work unique is that I focus on the whole person, starting from the mind; not just the surface. I guide people in creating routines and practices that fit their lives, while also encouraging them to nurture their creativity and goals. My own journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s taught me resilience and given me the ability to connect with others in an authentic way.

Right now, I’m working on building my brand, hosting events, and finding more ways to teach holistic living in schools, organizations, and even through travel. I’m currently working on dropping my pod called Thee Hive Mind (word play for Qveeng Bee’s) and restocking my holistic line. As for my vision, I want people to know they can heal, grow, and thrive while staying true to themselves. That what they are living now, if it’s not enough, doesn’t have to be the end all be all, ya know?

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Baby a spitfire, as my elders loved to call me! Lol. Still extremely empathetic almost to a fault, but I also won’t play with you. She popped off at any moment to stand up for what was right for self and others. She’s exceptionally different and rugged. Powerful. To herself but with others all at the same time. Friends are still life. A real romanticizer. Lol I love that baby and I keep her close still. If anything the world showed me then and [still] now how to keep my love and boundaries under control, tamed me and influenced me to let loose when necessary. The times are still a little murky but hey, I’m human in search of balance at all times. I was and still am a hot air balloon tethered by a little rock; know that the rock is stronger than it looks. She be holding me down. Lol

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds in my life have been connected to family dynamics, relationships, and health — really, the places where I felt unseen or unsupported. Those experiences left me questioning my worth at times, but they also pushed me toward deeper healing and self-discovery.

Lol, the healing is never done, but from what I have made progress on, my healing has come through setting boundaries, choosing myself even when it’s hard, and leaning into my faith and creativity. I’ve learned how important it is to create space for my own voice, my own needs, and my own vision for life. It hasn’t been a straight line — but every time I’ve taken a step back from what hurt me, I’ve stepped closer to who I really am.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no. Anybody close to me knows I feel through moods like thumbing a rolodex. I’m always bubbly at first and then I’m chill for a long while. Sometimes clothed in the Capricorn Melancholy. People always ask me, ‘what happened to the girl I first met,’ well she’s always there, but it takes the right ingredients to bring her out honestly. And it takes a lot of energy to be her as well. She’s real, but she can burn some gas, man. Lol. Those variables include being free, being around people like me, whatever vibe is in the air or with the other person, traveling, if I’ve gotten enough rest, if I feel safe, being creative, etc. Ya girl has adhd chile. I could be in love, thinking I’m showing it, but you’d just see a thinker at times. I’m completely sober now, almost a year come November, so I can’t rely on caffeine anymore to keep me up or just put me in a good/upbeat mood. I’m a big processor so my mind is always going on what happened then, how to prevent a cycle, or whatever project I want to dive into next. It’s something I’ve had to learn to live with and not be unapologetic about. She’s me and I love her. Lol

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Dancing, being consistent, interviewing or meeting those I look up to the most.

Dance has been my best friend. She’s always bandaged my wounds, spoke when I couldn’t, celebrated with me, and more. I would actually love to take ballet or contemporary one day. I feel like it would be beast-like to take that on, and actually get to ravish in. People who can dance ballet, I feel exude a different type of power and beauty when they move– the discipline it takes to show up and do so consistently at that…. girl.

As previously mentioned, I have been diagnosed with adhd. I’m pretty good with breaking down and forming new habits, but showcasing consistency longer than two weeks with anything– I haven’t beat that boss yet. But I’m working on a new formula to beat it before the ‘low’  comes. I think I’m doing pretty good so far.

The interviewing and meeting is something that truly makes my heart happy. The thrill?! Chef’s kiss. To meet someone you’ve only had proximity to through a screen, that has possibly healed you in some way with their creation, someone that gave you hope, or inspired you… priceless. I’ve met a few of my favorite artists in the past and I’d like to keep that going, hell, possibly even work with them; praying for that for me <3
