Nicki, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
Yes, actually! Myself. Boundaries. Since I live such a public life in regards to my music, I am very private with my daily life. When I have met people that could possibly be helpful to my career, but they cross a line, I have to lay down boundaries. This self selects people. Some people don’t like that, and there is the possibility of “losing” them. However, if people don’t respect boundaries, they aren’t your friends anyway. They have basically self selected out of your life and that’s ok! That’s how you find your true people. It’s a hard thing to do, but it’s imperative to following the right path. Aren’t you glad you asked? lol 🙂

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a songwriter, bassist from Los Angeles. My passion is playing bass and writing songs! My goal is to continuously improve on the ability to wrap an entire story into a 3 minute song with limit verbiage and be able to share the FEELING of the story and invoke those feelings in others. My 4th album is coming about to drop and I’m thrilled with it. I recorded and produced it myself and I’m very proud of how it came out!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I was a burden to others. I know now that I have a purpose in this world and that we ALL have something to offer. Even if it’s simply being ourselves and moving in the world the way we naturally do, then that IS our purpose.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That you need to feel it to heal it.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My music and taking care of the planet by loving and respecting it.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing? 
Nothing. I live my life exactly the way that I want. I have moved to a place, exactly where I want to be. I put out music on my own terms through my own record company. I only deal with those that life me up and support me. If I come up against something that brings me fear, I lean in and handle it. I always come out with more knowledge and that’s a gift.
