Story & Lesson Highlights with Olusegun Daramola of Albany

Olusegun Daramola shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Olusegun , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes, absolutely. One of the most surprising and transformative moments of my life happened quite recently, between August and September 2025. As a Virgo, born on September 4th 1989, this period has always carried a deep significance for me, but what unfolded this year went beyond anything I could have imagined. It was an experience that not only surprised me but also began reshaping my perspective on the future in profound ways.

I feel an immense sense of pride and gratitude because it has strengthened my journey and aligned me more closely with my true path. I give thanks to my higher self — my Orí — for revealing this lesson and guidance to me earlier than I expected. I also express my deepest gratitude to the Source of Life, Olódùmarè, for making it possible and for allowing me to recognize the blessing within the moment.

This experience continues to inspire me daily. It is something I will carry with me forever, not just as a memory, but as a defining chapter that fuels my growth, shapes my future, and reminds me of the importance of alignment, gratitude, and purpose. Truly, this is a moment that I will always remain proud of for the rest of my life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Olusegun Daramola, a Spiritual Teacher, Author, Global Spiritualist, African Numerologist & Astrologist, Ifá Scholar, and Babaláwo. I am also the Founder of World Builderr, an enlightenment platform dedicated to bridging spirituality, science, and technology for human transformation. Over the years, I have developed pioneering systems such as Ifá Numerology and Ifá Enlightenment, which reinterpret ancient wisdom for the modern world.

As an author of nearly 20 books on Ifá and Òrìṣà spirituality, I remain committed to preserving African spiritual knowledge while making it accessible, practical, and globally relevant. My work is unique because it unites timeless traditions with forward-looking innovation, empowering people to awaken their Orí (higher self), decode their destinies, and build lives of purpose and impact.

What makes my brand unique is that I do not separate tradition from innovation. Through Ifá wisdom, numerology, astrology, and modern tools like cryptocurrency and AI, I create a holistic space where ancient knowledge meets the future of human consciousness. My earlier work under World Builderr NGO laid the foundation, I am expanding the mission—focusing on mentorship, enlightenment, and transformative teachings that help people unlock their full potential.

Currently, I am working on several projects, including mentorship frameworks, destiny decoding systems, and global educational programs, as well as writings that preserve African spiritual perspectives for future generations. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that every human being has the power to build worlds—within themselves and around them—and my mission is to guide and support that process.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
The greatest teacher I have ever had when it comes to work has been my Orí, my higher self. From the very beginning of my life, my Orí has guided me, showing me that true work is not just about effort but about alignment with purpose. When I reflect on my Life Path Number, which is 4, I see how deeply this truth resonates with me. The number 4 represents discipline, structure, and building — we are the builders of systems, foundations, and legacies.

My Orí has consistently taught me that work is not merely about being busy; it is about working smartly, with vision, persistence, and balance. It is about laying bricks that endure, creating structures that serve others, and dedicating energy to what truly matters. Every achievement I’ve had is rooted in that internal guidance, and I remain grateful that my Orí continues to shape my relationship with work, responsibility, and service.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the most defining wounds of my life was my divorce and separation from my ex-wife. It was a deeply painful and transformative experience that shook me to my core, forcing me to confront not only loss but also aspects of myself I had not fully faced. Divorce is not just the ending of a relationship; it is the re-shaping of identity, the re-ordering of dreams, and the relearning of how to stand in your own wholeness again.

I can honestly say that I am healed and still healing, because true healing is not an instant event but an ongoing process. Over time, through self-reflection, spiritual practices, and gratitude to my Orí and Olódùmarè, I have found strength, compassion, and a deeper understanding of love, forgiveness, and growth. This wound has ultimately become a teacher, shaping me into someone more grounded, empathetic, and capable of guiding others through their own journeys of pain and transformation.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is very much the real me — but it is also the part of me that is most aligned with my purpose and calling. I have always believed that authenticity is the foundation of true leadership and spiritual work. What people see publicly — as a Spiritual Teacher, Author, Babaláwo, and Founder of World Builderr — is not a mask but an expression of my Orí, my higher self, living out its mission in the world.

At the same time, like every human being, I have private dimensions that are just for me, my family, and my inner circle. These quieter spaces are where I recharge, reflect, and continue my own growth. But even in those private moments, the values, principles, and essence you see publicly remain the same.

So while the public version of me may be more focused, refined, and purposeful, it is not separate from who I truly am — it is simply the outward reflection of the same inner truth that guides my life.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I am no longer here, I hope the story people tell about me is that I was someone who lived in alignment with his Orí and fulfilled his divine calling. I want to be remembered as a man who used his gifts to uplift others, who preserved and shared the wisdom of Ifá and African spirituality, and who built bridges between tradition and innovation — between the ancient and the future.

I hope people will say that I was not just a teacher, but a builder of worlds — someone who inspired others to awaken their own inner power, to know themselves, and to live lives of purpose and service. More than titles or achievements, I want the story of my life to be about impact, integrity, and transformation — that I left people, communities, and the world a little more enlightened than I found it.
