We recently had the chance to connect with Oryah and have shared our conversation below.
Oryah, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Nonstop work 24/7! All jokes aside, I usually get right to work first most mornings. I mainly try to workout, write articles & get a lot of clerical things done before anything else.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Oryah & it’s a please to be back on the platform. I’m a rapper & founder of TheWavMax ©
I’ve been making music for years originally starting off as a producer. I love rapping & singing now though, as it was a pretty natural progression. Currently working on a ton of new music & getting ready to release my new autumn-themed single, “Fall Back,” this month! At the time of me recording this
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was a kid I genuinely didn’t like my voice. Especially as I got older & it naturally grew deeper. Having a deep voice can still kinda be annoying sometimes haha, but I love my vocals & natural voice. It fits my overall laidback demeanor & ended up becoming very versatile when I decided to start making music.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I think it’s natural for people pursuing the arts professionally yo have doubts every now & then. My love for Hip-Hop is just imprinted on me though, and that’s usually what I lean on when in a slump. I love it though because I continue to prove those moments wrong over time the longer I work & build off each milestone.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Octopus will eventually takeover as the dominant species on Earth after humans come to a collapse. The Earth will always be around even after we’re extinct, but I think octopi (and squids lowkey) have a lot of biological advantages that would make that better for longterm survival. This would be assuming we see the “end of the world@ through natural disaster.
Additionally, I think in the deep sea there’s probably just a ton of giant Octopi species. They can adapt their RNA which is probably the craziest thing about them.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I think immortality is overrated lowkey. The concept of it sounds very depressing & purposeless, unless if used for a greater cause/mission.
